I purchased a 2006 Cobalt SS in 2009. I got the car used with about 35,000 miles on it. At the time I was in college and it was perfect for me. It was standard, with 18 inch rims, a large spoiler, and a supercharged engine. I had a lot of fun in that car and for the most part it held up very well. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for some cheap horse power. The car doesn't have awesome top end speed, but it gets off the line quite quick. It corners very well and has a very tight suspension. The trunk space is actually quite roomy for a compact car, and the SS model comes with racing seats by Ricaro, and also has a 7 speaker sound system that includes a 10 in subwoofer in the trunk. The SS model also comes with a sun roof/moon roof. The car was fun for a few years, but u... (more)
Story
I remember I had a lot of fun driving around UConn college campus in that car.
Pros
Fun, quick car, great sound system, and looks really cool.
Cons
Reliability is a real issue as the car gets holder.

This car has been great. It's the most basic model: manual transmission and no automatic locks or windows, but it has been very reliable and drives great even in the snow. It looks nice, too; it's a 2-door coupe with a spoiler on the back. The only thing I don't love is that it's hard to put our bike rack on the back because of the spoiler.
Story
We drove it around on windy roads in the woods, and got to see beautiful scenery.
Pros
The best parts about this vehicle are the transmission and overall reliability. I love driving a standard because I feel like I have more control over the car, and I think I pay attention to my driving more. It's hard to find manual transmissions these days, so I was happy to find this one for a reasonable price and not too many miles, as it was used when we got it. I also like that the car is reliable. We have only had to get maintenance work done on it, and the work we've gotten done has not been too expensive. The parts needed for the car are reasonably priced.
Cons
I really don't have many negative things to say about the car. The only thing I would change would be not to have the spoiler so our bike rack would fit better. Additionally, some people might not like the simplicity of the car, as it doesn't have automatic locks and windows. Occasionally, that is a little annoying, but for the most part I don't mind it.

They were not a pushy dealership, but still were very helpful when needed. They also allowed for a lengthy test drive with just myself and my father in the car.

The salesman was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find a car that meets my needs. I told him what I was looking for and he tried to meet my needs exactly.
