2008 Chevrolet Impala - One of the best family cars around!
The Chevy Impala has been one of the best vehicles I've ever driven, hands down. It's roomy enough to fit car seats, sports equipment and several kids - and that's just the back seat! The trunk is bigger than I'd imagine on a sedan, and the interior has held up well with my kids. After having drove this car 10 years and 200 thousand miles (lots of dirt roads), I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend anything different. My next car will be an Impala - they really hit it outta the park with this one!
Story
We took this car camping, but we forgot the tent. We ended up sleeping in the back with blankets rolled up in the windows to keep light out.
Pros
Being a parent of small kids, size was huge for me. I have nearly as much space in this as I did in my minivan but without the hassle. The trunk is huge. There's a lot of leg room in the driver and passenger sides. The backseat is roomy, big enough for kids, car seats and plenty of groceries or sports equipment. The engine has been solid, I've only had minor repairs and regular maintenance. It's built very solidly. My kids haven't been able to loosen door panels or anything!
Cons
The only real negative about this car is that it's been hard to find cosmetic parts to enhance it. We had a dingy to one of the doors and a new door was hard to find, which drove the price of it up. Also, I would recommend checking bulbs frequently as they do sort of wiggle out of place. Twice now I've thought I needed to replace the license plate light, but it had just gotten loose.
2008 Chevrolet Impala - This is a great car! It has run great for ne for many years, roomy, safe and has been very reliable for my family!
I think the quality of this car is unbeatable. For a passenger car, it is very roomy. We took it on vacation, and even sleeping in the back seat was not impossible. The engine has been strong, and with regular maintenance this car has run like a top for me.
Story
We took a road trip to Arizona in this car. we drove straight through so we took turns driving and sleeping in the back seat.
Pros
My favorite aspects of this vehicle is how roomy the front seat is, you don't feel squeezed in. This makes it nice for road trips. It's got a big trunk, and has ideal gas mileage. For me it's the best value I've ever gotten on a vehicle.
Cons
I think the most negative thing about this car for me has been the overall look of it. It is a very basic and boring looking car. It is also a very common car, so it's easy to lose in parking lots.
