This thing has completely failed. I've had to replace the head gaskets and all the other gaskets along with them. I've put in a ton of oil and coolant, too! It has almost no "giddy-up" either. The 0-60 is probably close to 20 seconds or so. It does get me where I need to go and is small enough to U-turn in my neighborhood streets, which is nice.
Story
I thought I killed it once when I turned the corner and it turned itself off. It turned out to be a wire disconnected from my ignition coil. Fun times.
Pros
It's really small bodied for a v6. It just keeps going with a little TLC. It makes a great honking noise. Parts for repairs are really cheap.
Cons
Most things squeak from the steering column to the brakes to the chassis itself. It eats gas like it was designed by BP. Things are hard to work on under the hood.

This little truck packs a powerful punch with a full size motor under the hood. Yep, people are shocked to find out there is a 4.3 liter, V6 engine in this little thing. The extended cab is a plus! It's so convenient being able to open the back door to keep stuff out of the rain or to even seat another person on the little fold out seat in the passenger wall. This truck came with so many surprises. From the outside she looks just like any other truck, but she can haul with the big dogs - almost! Great for moving furniture and other large items, yet able to fit into a compact spot at the Walmart parking lot! Good job, GM, I love how you designed this truck. Some things I would change, however, would be the plastic components used. After 15 years, the visors are breaking down and the se... (more)
Story
I love my memories of hitting the river with my best girlfriends and my two dogs. We would load up and meet the girls at the river bottoms and spend the days soaking up the sun and letting the dogs roam. It was good times.
Pros
This Chevrolet came with a nice stock stereo; great for jamming out to your favorite tunes on those long drives or even short trips. The seats are made of a comfortable fabric that has stood the test of time. Being able to turn off the passenger seat air bag has frequently come in handy since there are many times that I have children riding with me. There are also map lights on the rear view mirror that are especially convenient so you don't blind yourself by turning on the cab light on a dark road while looking for something. I love how the back windows open up and you can have a nice b... (more)
Cons
Some of the downsides of this truck have been the issues with the plastic components. The visors have vanity mirrors on both the passenger and driver's sides, and the mirrors have plastic covers. The hinges are plastic and have snapped off on both sides. This has been a pain and one day I will replace the visors, but wish I did not have to. Also, the screws that hold in the handles for the seats (to recline them forward or backwards) have snapped off on both the passenger and driver's sides. I am not sure if I'll ever be able to fix those, but I'm lucky the seats are in okay positions and... (more)
