2012 Chevrolet Sonic - Chevy Sonic—excellent commuter car

The thing that stands out the most about the Chevy Sonic is the exceptional gas mileage. In California, 30 bucks in this bad boy will last me two weeks, and I am a heavy commuter. The interior is sleek and not too flashy but it gets the job done. It is a pretty compact car, but if you get yourself some roof racks like I did, this little car can haul great! The only regret I have is not getting the LTZ edition of this vehicle. It's zippy, but it would have been nice to have a little more pep in my car.
Story
A fun memory I have with this vehicle is when my then pregnant wife thought it would be a great idea to pick up a crib from Walmart in my vehicle. I kept telling her I wasn't sure it would fit, and low and behold, after much "loving" coaching from wife, we were able to fit a huge crib box from Walmart in my tiny Chevy Sonic.
Pros
Gas mileage, without question, is my favorite feature of the Chevy Sonic. Another surprising feature is how roomy the interior is. My passengers are always surprised when they enter the car. There is more than enough space for the front passenger and back passenger to ride comfortable. Even at my height, I can ride very comfortable in this vehicle. I enjoy being able to park in compact places where larger vehicles would not fit.
Cons
The top negative feature is that my car doesn't have a cruise control feature since I have a manual transmission. My car also doesn't have a lot of torque. Recently, my car has been having issues with the active recall issued on the car to fix a faulty windshield wiper hose. Despite two repairs to the hose, it is still having issues. That might be my second grievance as I have to take time to schedule a fix it appointment at the dealer.

I like that as a spacey compact sedan, it fits a family of four great. It runs pretty good, and the interior is very nice and up to date. The sun does burn the paint around the radio over time, which makes it look somewhat cheap, and it peels over time. It seems that all 2012-2016 models have the same issues: the water pump goes out and the A/C almost never works good. Your car will eventually overheat, and I promise you'll have to pay $300 for it. Regardless, every car has issues and it's fixable things. When the car is up to date and well maintained, it runs amazing The trunk has great space and a spare, which is always something you'll need. It has a touchscreen radio, which I personally love. The seats are a great size and extremely comfortable. I would say the car is a strong 7/10.
Story
First time I took it home and everyone else in my family drove it before me and they all liked it.
Pros
OnStar service. Touch pad radio. Interior. Acceleration. Space. Design. MPG.
Cons
Constant A/C problems. Water pump problems. Coolant leak. Oil leak. Code 84.
