My Mazda 3 was the first car I bought for myself. It's zippy and fun and meets all my needs. I'm very happy with this purchase and have recommended it to all my friends looking for new cars. The grill looks like a smiley-face, so I always feel a little charmed by it. I like how it's little and fast, so it can maneuver well on the freeway. The acceleration is excellent for this car. You go from 0 to 60 so fast. I get so much joy from driving this car fast on the freeway. The seats are cloth, but they look good. It's a four door with plenty of space in trunk, but I've heard that the hatchback is really spacious. There's radio dials on the steering wheel, which is really convenient when you want to change songs/stations, but still want to focus on driving. It came with a CD player, but th... (more)
Story
When I first got my car, I went on a trip to Sequoia. There's a stretch of highway by Bakersfield that's very straight and empty, so I drove 100 mph for a little bit.
Pros
It's fast and picks up speed very quickly. It gets good MPG.
Cons
Automatic doors are not standard for this car, so it's a hassle to let friends in.

I purchased this car as a certified pre-owned and, all-in-all, I haven't had to do much in the way of repair/maintenance, and I paid cash, so I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of the car. It's not the best car I've driven, but to be fair, I haven't driven that many. In the four+ years that I've owned the cars, the brakes have held up, the engine still runs fine, and very little has had to be replaced.
Story
Repeatedly beating L.A. traffic in the vehicle by a combination of timing, speed, and luck.
Pros
My previous car had been a 2001 Hyundai Elantra, so the inclusion of a CD player, let alone a six-disc changer, was a nice addition. Furthermore, the car has a good turn radius and shifts gears smoothly. The center multi-compartment is useful, and I like that I can close off the cup holder space, should I need to. The vehicle also gets almost 300 miles out of a full tank going about 65-70mph.
Cons
Takes a little while to get the speed up, and once it is, it guzzles the gas. Takes a long time to heat up in winter and even longer to cool down in the summer. Basically, in order to get it to cool you in 90-100 degree heat, you need to be driving around 30 mph or more. While the side mirrors are controllable in terms of direction, you will still have to manually fold them in to go through a car wash.
