I like the overall look of the car. The look is modern and sleek. I like the interior too. The headliner is nice and soft. The seats are quite comfortable. The interior of the car is roomy, as is the trunk. However, I'm not at all pleased with how the car runs. There have been two recalls for parts so far. A fuel pump and a locking mechanism. That's annoying and inconvenient to deal with. But the very worst part of this car is the transmission. It rattles and jerks. That started happening not long after I drove the car off the lot. The dealership's solution is to reset the computer, which fixes it for a while. And then the same thing starts happening all over again. I have to have it done every time I have an oil change. It's due to Ford's new power shift transmission. It's a transmiss... (more)
Story
I drove to the California coast with my mother once to pick up my brother. That was pretty fun. Except for the transmission rattling and shaking that made me very nervous the whole drive.
Pros
It's a cheap car. The interior and exterior look nice. The interior and trunk are very roomy.
Cons
Two recalls on two different parts. Very poorly designed transmission that rattles and shakes.

This car was an inexpensive choice for me as a first time car buyer. This is reflected in the quality and performance. I do enjoy the small size because it is easy to park in tight spaces. The mileage is pretty good. The trunk is also really spacious for such a small car. However, there have been a lot of problems to deal with. The transmission had a lot of issues, including needing to be reprogrammed at one point, and the car wouldn't start one day and needed to be towed to get fixed. The door latches all needed to be replaced after the passenger side door wouldn't stay latched shut. After driving over a bump or dip in the road, the lights on the dashboard would turn on and stay on for a random period of time until they turned off again.
Story
For being such a small car, I was able to move all of my things to and from college in San Luis Obispo, a four hour drive away.
Pros
This car was low-cost for a first time owner. It is small and easy to park in compact spots, and parallel parking is a breeze. The trunk is large and can fit a lot. The mileage is pretty decent as well.
Cons
There have been a few issues with this car. The transmission needed reprogramming and the passenger side door latch broke and all four needed to be replaced, all of which Ford took care of, but really shouldn't have been an issue at all. A strange rattling sound comes from the front of the car that has never been fixed.

Great salesperson, not pushy and let me test drive and ask a million questions about the different models and options. Financing was easy, felt good vibes from all personnel I interacted with.
