2000 Ford Expedition - My opinion on Fords.
During the first few years, the SUV was very comfortable with strong performance. Compared to the options you get in other vehicles, the SUV was very minimal. One thing I don't like about Fords is its paint. My paint started peeling off the car after the fifth year which has passed its warranty period. Ford is notorious for its defective paint among other issues.
Story
A bunch of us squeezed in for a road trip to Las Vegas. I think we were able to squeeze nine people in and managed to enjoy the trip.
Pros
The engine was extremely powerful. I was able to pull a boat and a fifth-wheel trailer with ease. It's definitely one the most powerful motors available.
Cons
Ford has defective materials and parts that coincidentally fall apart right after the warranty expires.
2007 Ford Expedition - Solid as a rock.
I bought this SUV for several reasons. First of all, it is large enough to transport eight people which was very convenient when I was a girl scout leader. Secondly, it is perfect for camping. Plenty of room to pack all of your gear inside and room for five to sit comfortably on a long drive. I purchased the four-wheel drive option which allowed me to get to off the road camp sites with no fear. When I needed to get away on my own, the back is the perfect size to fit an air mattress for an overnight sleep. The frame used for this vehicle is the same time-tested frame that is used on the F150, providing a solid ride. I have put 120,000 miles on this vehicle with no major problems. This vehicle is holding up remarkably well, and I plan on keeping it until the odometer skips past 200,000 ... (more)
Story
I lived in the mountains for about three years. During the winter snows, I used to love waving as we passed the other cars that were putting on chains. I always felt well prepared for anything.
Pros
Solid. Reliable. Strong. Fun. Roomy.
Cons
Gas mileage.
