I bought this truck used from my parents when it was about four years old. It was a great little truck. It was a stick, and I had a great time driving it. It was only a little four cylinder, but it had some good pickup. I didn't take very good care of it and drove it recklessly, but it was easily one of my favorite vehicles I've owned. I owned it for about two years and sold it to my aunt, who drove it until it died about four years ago.
Story
My buddy and I drove down Pacific Coast Highway in the truck, and it was great. We were able to pull over and hop in the bed any time we wanted and watch the sunset.
Pros
I really liked the bench seating. The cab was really small so the bench seat allowed me to fit an extra person when needed or my girlfriend to sit in the middle. I also liked that it was a stick shift. It made it more fun to drive. The stick shift was really easy and was actually my last manual car I've owned. I liked have a truck that I could load stuff on but was small enough to easily drive around in southern California's crazy traffic.
Cons
The cabin was small. It was a bench seating but three people were tight. It was especially tight and awkward driving a stick when there were three people in the cab. Another con would be the people that would ask for help moving or transporting big items because I had truck, even though it was tiny and couldn't pull a lot. It was a truck but not a hauling truck and couldn't haul very much weight.

I love my Dodge Dakota, from the first time I test drove it, until this very day. It has never let me down no matter the weather, elevation or terrain. I have taken my truck across country during the last 15+ years three times from California to New York and Maine to South Carolina. Each and every time, it made the trip without a hiccup. I have owned other vehicles and still do, but when push come to shove, I go to my Dakota when I need to go on a long trip. I don't know if they make the v6 Magnum engine anymore, but with all the offers I still get to buy my truck from me, I think Dodge would benefit greatly with a retro Dakota in its lineup! That's my Dakota experience, and it still going.
Story
Hauling a pallet of bricks through the hills of Escondido, Ca. without a care in the world.
Pros
Engine power is very good with the Mag V6. I can pull more than most newer and bigger trucks. Love the tire size. If your tires get too big, your vehicle tends to loose traction with the ground and doesn't deliver enough torque to pull you out of bad situations. Last but not least, I love my hard-covered, plastic bed liner. It is 15 years old and not a crack—a lot of scratches but no cracks.
Cons
If you pull over at a rest stop and need to catch a couple of winks, the seats of my truck are not too comfortable to sleep in.
