Rusty but Reliable
I first purchased my car in 2011, and was impressed by the interior. It is a fully old school car: manual lock, manual windows, and a cassette deck that I had to scramble to find cassettes for (a very nostalgic activity). The seats are a durable material that withheld a few water stains here and there, and the trunk had a great capacity to cart me to and from an out of state college. The controls are easy to figure out and are not complicated at all - I had all of them figured out in about five minutes when I first slipped behind the wheel.

Simple and pleasant
I bought my 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier about six years ago. I had recently got into an accident at the time, and I was in need of a new vehicle. At the time, I was in high school, and I just needed a car that could get me from point A to point B with no problems. I looked at a few local dealerships and finally ended up at a credit union dealer. Most of their cars were a little out of my price range, and by a little, I mean $15k out of my price range. But they did have a few options. There was a really beat-up older Nissan Maxima, but the condition it was in was grotesque. Next to that, there was a very nice-looking Jaguar (I can't remember the model name), but from all the research I did, Jaguars were insanely expensive to fix when they broke down, and they broke down a lot. Finally, there was a nice Chevrolet Cavalier, four doors, clean interior, relatively low miles, and for the price, it was a good deal, so I took it. It was my daily driver for about a year. There was not a single issue with the car, other than the A/C was off and on, but I was a teenager driving a four cylinder. I was craving more power even though I didn't need it. One day, the car needed an oil change. I've done plenty of oil changes before this and at least two on this particular car before. I'm certain I did everything correctly. I mean it doesn't take a genius to change a car's oil, but alas, after just a few miles on the road, the engine seized. I had a big problem on my hand. I took it to a mechanic to get an estimate, but the cost to fix it would be around $3k, so I ended up parting with the car. For that year, it was a good car, and I do miss it every now and again.
