I like the Chevy S-10 4X4 even though it gets poor gas mileage
I like the Chevy S-10 4X4 even though it gets poor gas mileage. It drives great off road, and you would be challenged to get yourself stuck in the mud. It seems to get a lot better gas mileage if you always stay under 55 miles per hour. Fifty-three miles per hour is the perfect cruise control setting for this truck when on the interstate. The truck is much higher off the ground than a regular Chevy S-10. When the truck came from the factory it had really big off road mudding tires on it that had very deep grooves in the tread. At highway speeds these tires will make a very loud noise. At interstate 70 mph speeds the noise with these tires is so loud that it can be hard to have a conversation inside the vehicle. I mostly solved this problem by replacing the giant off road tires with interstate touring tires to reduce the noise evil produced by the tires dramatically.

Versatility and style
My Chevy s-10 has been the most valuable purchase I've made over the past decade. The s-10 is one more versatile trucks, as it can be used for multiple purposes ranging from work truck to play truck. The LS version is possibly the most fuel efficient of the s-10's, sporting a 2.2 Liter engine that allows over 22 mpg on the highway. What I like about the 2001 model is how far it has evolved from the original 1982 model, which includes the addition of a spare tire, cruise control, and an integrated CD player. Having purchased my truck used, I would have expected more performance issues at this point, but there are really none to report. There is not much I do not like about my truck, however it does lack the horsepower of other compact trucks which is beneficial in certain situations.
