A very solid and reliable car for the price
The Tucson is a sturdy compact SUV that feels larger than it is. It offers a relatively smooth reliable ride. Even at seven years old (it's a 2011 model purchased in 2018 with 61,000 miles on it), the car feels new and safe and at its peak. It looks like it could easily have been released in 2017 or 2018. The interior is extremely roomy - especially for the driver. The controls make sense, and the overall interior environment took very little time to get used to. The rear seat space is decent. The trunk/storage area is what you'd expect from an SUV, even one larger than the Tucson. So far, after four months and 4,000 miles, the car has been great. No problems, no repairs needed - just the typical oil change for maintenance. The brakes and tires feel like they can last for a long time. The only drawback is that the gas mileage is a little bit lower than expected. I expected, based on its age and advertised mpg, something around 22-25 mpg driving half highway/half city and it's been more like 17-19 mpg.

A great suburban mom starter car
My Tucson was my second vehicle and I love it. it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it has been dependable and in line with my needs and style for this part of my life. It's neither a bottom rung car nor a luxury car. I'd buy another one when it's time if it were not for the fact that by then, we will probably need a minivan due to our plans for a growing family.
