Great family car that was probably much better new.
I like the size and style of the Mazda MPV. My family fit very well in it. The third row seating came in handy many times. The cargo space was great for hauling sports gear and camping equipment. It was never easy for me to transform the back from seating to cargo space. The headrests had to be removed, and they didn't come out easily. There were two different handles to pull to get the seat to fold over then drop down into the space. I can't even remember exactly what it took to put the seats back up. The seats were very comfortable. Some of the most comfortable car seats I can remember. The visibility was good with lots of big windows. The MPV was used when we got it and needed catch-up maintenance, including power steering flush, transmission flush, alignment, windshield wipers. Not long after we got it the alternator needed to be replaced. There was a problem with the electrical system causing fuses to blow and systems (radio, power locks, charger) to stop working. I wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if it had been better maintained before we got it. I still liked it a lot.

Best overall minivan
My husband and I purchased our first minivan after the birth of our first child. The Mazda MPV minivan was well-rated by Consumer Reports, and we loved how it felt to drive the first time we tested it at the dealership. The minivan handled like high-seated sedan. It was powerful and quick to accelerate, which made it great for highway merging and driving. It handled rain and snow with minimal effort and to this day, gets great gas mileage. After owning this vehicle for more than 15 years, the minivan still runs like a champ with no major repairs ever required. We are saddened that when our super tank finally gives out, that Mazda doesn't make this style of minivan anymore.

Miracle MPV
I love my Mazda MPV! I got it about 5 years ago from a dealership. It was a trade in from someone else’s new purchase. It had just under 100,000 miles when I got it, and it still runs beautifully. This is my first minivan, and with kids, it is an absolute must. I have had absolutely no major internal engine issues since owning it, and honestly believe that this was the best used car purchase I have ever made.
