It is a fun car to drive. It handles very well. It is a very attractive vehicle. It is comfortable. The included options (navigation, etc) are very nice.

The sporty test drive on a curvy road told me everything I wanted to know - whether there was joy in the experience, and there was. The RX-8 has 4 seats, with suicide-style rear doors, and being a passenger in the back seat is no problem for an average-sized person. There was better view ability out the back windows versus other sporty vehicles I tested, a nice stereo system, cruise control for long drives, traction control to minimize wheel spin on slippery surfaces. Plus the car looks good and I loved the red color of the one I picked. But best of all it has a rotary engine, so a smooth power curve and less banging in the engine bay.

For nearly a century, cars had been outfitted with heavy piston engines. That was, until Mazda came along. Mazda's 1.3 liter rotary 'Renesys' engine took the automotive world by storm. This tiny, 200lb engine makes an impressive 237 naturally aspirated horse power with just 1.3 liters of displacement. The engine is smooth all the way to its redline of 9000rpm. Power goes to the rear wheels via a buttery smooth six-speed manual transmission. The car has a 50/50 weight distribution and a limited slip differential, so the handling is superb. Overall, the best car I've ever owned.
