Traffic isn't too bad except during rush hour and in the morning when people are going to school/work. Generally, it's pretty enjoyable and traffic tends to flow generally well. Erwin Rd.. It's fairly scenic, without too much development yet. The speed limit is 45, so it's not too slow. At the same time, the traffic flows well and there aren't many stoplights, so it's nice to be able to drive without having to constantly slow down and stop. There are a lot of trees, so it's shady, which helps on hot days and it's nicer to look at than the grey buildings of urban centers.

There are signs posted to guide you to all major points in the city. Do not hesitate to stop at a store and ask for directions. The clerks are normally friendly and knowledgeable.

Driving in Durham, North Carolina has its ups and downs. What I like most about this city is that you can get almost anywhere multiple ways. It is moderately easy to get back on the right track if you take a wrong turn due to minimal one way streets.
