The first thing that becomes apparent, even in a leisurely drive, is the omnipresence of the 5.7 liter V8. Its rumble permeates every activity - ignition, gently accelerating through a turn, and opening it up on the on-ramp. It is impossible not to break into a grin each time you hammer the throttle. But when you start to examine the finer details, you realize that this car is a far improvement from its 70s ancestors. For a big car, it's surprisingly nimble. There are sportier cars, to be sure, but how this car handles, in spite of a big block engine and surprisingly roomy passenger and cargo space, is downright impressive. Not to mention that the drive feel is downright exciting and responsive. Most large cars have a tendency to feel a bit floaty and unsure during hard turns in tight corners. This one bites down and just grips through, only sliding out the back if you force it to. Perhaps even more surprisingly is the level of comfort afforded to the rider and his passengers. The interior is frankly a bit boring, but the amenities themselves are very comfortable and well-thought out. All told, it was the perfect balance between performance, practicality, and plushness.
