2013 FIAT 500 - Enjoyable in the city, on the highway, and in the mild wilderness.

Things I like about this vehicle: - Good gas mileage, both in the city and on the highway. On average, the gas mileage ranges from 32-38 mpg with a combination of city and highway driving. - Although a small car, the FIAT-500 POP has ample interior space, even for a family of 3. - The safety rating on the car is also very high. There are 7 airbags and visibility is very high. Mirror design and placement as well as door/window frame placement make for a nearly 360 degree field of view. - Styling. The interior design is well thought out, although fairly small across shoulder width. The color schemes are complimentary and it is easy to find a model and color that suits your personality. Historia

Gas mileage and overall vehicle performance while driving have been outstanding. This summer, my family and I took a road trip from Washington to California. The FIAT was able to handle hilly terrain, both paved and unpaved when going to camp sites. With the help of a roof storage bag, we had camping gear, clothes, and food for 9 full days.

A Favor

The vehicle is fun to drive and easy to park/maneuver. For those in the city, it is a great alternative to other small cars both in performance and styling. For instance, the base model FIAT-500 is able to achieve 31 mpg in the city at a minimum with a manual transmission. A SMARTCAR often performs at 25 mpg or less, and is not as smooth during gear transitions (based on test drives). FIATs also come in a variety of colors, so finding one to fit your style is easy. The interior space is well planned and accommodates both tall and short drivers.

En Contra

Since the engine is small (101 HP for the Fiat-500 POP models), the vehicle can seem a little "gutless" at times. However, the manual transmission allows for easier control of acceleration. The "SPORT" function is also not very useful, especially if a majority of your driving is in the city. Backseat passengers are often cramped, either in head or leg room. This is often a downside to coupe-style cars.

2013 FIAT 500 - Fun little car

I get compliments all the time on what a cute little car it is. It handles well and it is really fun to drive. Overall, I really enjoy it. It is certainly not a luxury car or well suited for long trips, but for a daily driver to and from work and running errands it is fantastic. You can't help but smile when you unlock the door and get ready to ride.

Historia

This is a great car for driving up and down the main street of our small Florida town. Most people, including the many tourists that come to visit will stop and do a double take. Kids especially seem to like to point and smile.

A Favor

The 5 speed manual transmission gets at least 30 mpg and that is mostly stop and go driving and short trip. Surprising amount of head and leg room. My husband is 6 feet tall and he fits comfortably in the front passenger compartment. The interior is simple but not sparse. The controls are well laid out and fairly easy to use and access. There is a lot of room in the trunk and the seats fold down for extra space. Easy to park and handles well in general. Great stereo system and I can plug in my i-pod too. Fairly inexpensive compared to similar type cars.

En Contra

It is not very comfortable for long trips. The seats are difficult to fold back in order to access the back seat. It is very difficult to do "head checks" and look for cars through the back windows, creating a definite blind spot and causing the driver to rely on the mirrors more than necessary. You can hear a lot of road noise. The paint chips very easily compared to other cars I have driven on the same roads. There is no spare tire - some people still want to carry a spare!

2012 FIAT 500 - My car is amazing

My vehicle has performed without any major issue or malfunction for over five years. While I have had some minor repairs (a window sunk into the door, and the battery needed to be replaced), I have had no serious issues. I went in looking for something that would compare to a Smart car but be better able to handle highway driving, and I have never been disappointed.

Historia

I remember when I got the car in the first place, it was amazing because I got it when it was only a few years old and had practically no miles. I went to the dealer expecting to get a new car, but the price was so much less than I expected. It was exactly what I wanted, so I couldn't turn it down. The salesperson swore I stole it from someone else who had been unsure and was still deciding.

A Favor

I was incredibly picky and really wanted a yellow car, and this car came in the exact yellow I wanted. The interior is comfortable, the air conditioning is great and the sound system has excellent quality. The gas mileage is very reasonable, and I find myself filling the tank much less frequently than I expect. I have the Fiat 500 sport, so not only can I drive normally, I have a sport function that makes my car sound like it is working very hard. I feel like a race car driver, and it is very fun.

En Contra

The car is very small, so it becomes difficult if you ever need to put anything in your car. While I love that it looks like a spaceship, some of the controls in the car are located in extremely strange places, like the window controls are in the middle of the car instead of on the door like you would expect. The size of the car also means that there is an extremely small gas tank, which somewhat takes away from the otherwise excellent gas mileage because you will end up needing to fill up your tank slightly more often because of the small capacity.
