Reliable car, great little SUV
My primary reason for getting a Ford Escape was because I love the look of the vehicle and the amount of interior space. I bought my Escape after the a/c died in my Oldsmobile Cutlass. I love that I'm higher up in the Escape, I feel safer when I'm driving. I also love the interior of the car, it's very roomy with lots of trunk space--especially compared to a sedan. The seats are comfortable and everything (the dash controls, cruise control, headlights, wipers, etc.) is arranged where it's easy to get to and use. I love that you can fold down all or part of the back seat, my only complaint is that it doesn't fold down all the way. There has to be something on top of it to keep it down. But the car and trunk space provide enough room for me to get a couple suitcases, a dog kennel, and my dog in the car for trips. Alternatively, without those things, I can fit my bike in the back of the car. As far as maintenance, I've owned my Escape for a little over 2 years now and it's only been in the shop twice, aside from oil changes and inspections. After owning it for two years, it had a broken sway bar link (not sure if it is the same one, but one of these was fixed right before I purchased the vehicle) and needed new brake pads and rotors. The sway bar link was just under $100 and the brake pads and rotors were reasonable as well Then, about a month ago, I had to replace one of the engine coils and get new spark plugs. This was a little pricey, but that was mainly because it was one of the rear engine coils so there was quite a bit of labor involved in getting to it. Other than that, it's been really reliable and it drives great. About once a month or every other month I make the 7 hour trip from where I attend school to where my parents live and I've never had any problems with the car during these trips. These trips also mean I've put a lot of miles on it in the 2 years I've owned it, so I'm impressed it hasn't needed more work. The car does seem to run a little rough, even my dad has commented on this when it's been running in the driveway. It doesn't affect the drivability of the car, and I don't feel unsafe when driving it, so it's really just be a little annoying. Other than that, the car is great to drive. My friends enjoy it because they can "off road" in it a little bit--though mine does not have 4WD. It accelerates and brakes just fine and I've never "lost control" of the car, even in snow and ice. It really handles very well and is a great little SUV.

Best economy friendly and fantastic SUV Ford Escape.
The Ford Escape is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. It is small enough to be able to turn and pull into spaces that a car would be able to but also spacious enough to carry so much more than you could in a car. It has a sleek design and a very spacious cabin. My car has a pano roof which is an added feature I will now require in any future purchases of a car. My car also has the turbo feature that allows me to accelerate quickly. The cabin is also not too noisy and rides rather comfortably. The sound system is great as well. It has the feature to Bluetooth and save many different radio stations instead of just the normal 6. It also has a CD player. It has USB and multiple 12v plug ins. One awesome feature of the car is that it has an electrical plug in as well which makes cleaning your car that much easier or if you're running late you're able to plug your hair tools into. It also has built in navigation feature which comes in handy when your phone is running low on battery. It also has talk commands and a touchscreen display. The seats can recline in the back as well as fold down easily to fit larger items. The feature to fold down the seats comes in handy very much as we own a small wood working business and some times carry long 10 ft. boards and other lumber that fits in the cabin of the car. I also like the protective barriers it has underneath the car and covering the engine to help protect the parts that make your car run. We also have racks on top of the car that makes traveling with our 2 kayaks easier and safely.
