I bought this car in high school from a family friend as a first car, and it is close to retirement. When I bought it, the car already had ~120,000 miles, but it never felt like it needed work until a few years of ownership. It is an old manual, continues to shift smoothly and run decently, despite my having driven it hard during the first two or so years of owning it. I took it down to college my freshman year, about a 400 mile drive, and it kicked butt the entire way. I've put somewhere around 15,000 miles on it to date and have yet to do anything other than routine maintenance/oil swaps. The windows were older crank style, not electric, but that is fine by me. The car has plenty of room, considering that it's a two door, and the trunk is surprisingly large for a compact little thing. The only real gripe I had with it was the manufacturer radio and speakers, but that's really just nitpicking. All in all, it is a great beater and an awesome beach car. My home is near the shore, and I'll always grab some friends, toss a cooler in the back, and drive to the beach. It's near the end of its life, but it has really made me love driving.

This car was actually left to sit for a couple of months when we bought it. Even then, it still gave us minimal issues even years after. The engine is very strong, and the Korean engineering is truly Impressive. The technology is outdated, of course, but what else can you expect from a 2002 car. The body shape and the color of the car itself was very unique. You can rarely find a regular car from 2002 that looks this modern. It's truly a timeless design. This was a car that was very needed, and it held up well throughout the time it was used. Trunk is spacious enough for your sports equipment and groceries!
