My Mercury Mariner Hybrid is a great small SUV. I am able to average almost 30 MPG year-round. It's big enough to carry a family of four and all the gear they need for a fun weekend. Still, it's small enough to navigate throughout a congested city. The Hybrid drive system makes the four cylinder engine comparable to a V6 engine. The driver's seating area is pretty good. At 6' tall with long legs I can sit comfortably. However, my seat is also more forward than normal because of kids sitting in the back. Without rear passengers, you can get more leg room.

I got this car almost two years ago and put around 35,000 miles on it. It had around 70,000 miles on it when I purchased it and so far has held up great. I live in the mountains in upstate New York, and since the car has four-wheel drive, it has been a dream in the snow. It's the perfect size for what I need, it can fit all my friends, and it has plenty of room for storage. This car is also has excellent handling which is great for the curvy roads where I live.
