The Nissan Murano is by far the best vehicle I've owned. I've taken the car on road trips down the coast and through the mountains and it drove flawlessly. Even on the roughest parts of the road it was a smooth ride and quiet inside. The stock sound system isn't bad either. For not having big subwoofers and all the other components, the sound is amazing and the bass will bump. One of the downsides about the sound system is the screen used to control the audio and air conditioning is not used for anything else. By this I mean it doesn't have navigation, blue tooth, color, or any other features you would find in a car similar. The gas mileage on the Murano isn't half bad either. On the highway I average somewhere in the upper 20's and in town I average in the lower 20's.

After I bought my car I wanted to see how the All Wheel Drive handled in the mountains and snow. I'm a snowboarder and if I don't have a reliable car to get me there, well it would be pointless. So I drove up to the snow capped mountains of California with a couple friends half expecting the car to not handle that well. As soon as I hit snow, I enabled the all wheel drive and was taken back. I... (more)
A Favor
The positive aspects of the car include the sound system, the gas mileage, and how comfortable everyone can sit.
En Contra
There are a couple negative aspects as well and these include the lack of a navigational system, some of the plastic pieces inside continuously break and fall apart, and the air conditioning seems to leak quite a bit.

I purchased the vehicle used from a local used/new car dealer. The overall appearance was the initial thing that attracted me to the vehicle, however, after driving it I also appreciated the performance and handling characteristics. I delved a little deeper and discovered that it has a 3500lb towing capacity, pretty much unheard of for smallish crossover SUVs. (I can tow a small boat, U-Haul trailer, etc., no problem!) Power everything, heated leather seats and an awesome factory sound system with subwoofers in the back. I've had the car over 10 years and 110k miles with no major issues whatsoever, only your typical wear and tear items like brakes/tires/belts/etc. Overall, this vehicle has been great, especially compared to the domestic sedan it replaced which had required a transmis... Love driving it on the beach. Even though it's fwd, the tires are big and it has decent ground clearance. I've never been stuck or even close to it, just slow and steady and it keeps on going. Tie the surfboards on the roof racks, cooler in the back and off we go!
A Favor

En Contra
Price Gas mileage (not awful, not great)

I appreciate that despite the vehicle's age, the 2009 Nissan Murano has stood the test of time and distance. I have driven over 150,000 miles on the vehicle, but it still drives smoothly with no serious shakes. The look and usability of the technology in the car (including the air conditioning and heating system, the radio and navigation screen, and the display above the steering wheel) though old are comparable to those that appear in newer cars. One dislike I have is though the leather seats and cloth flooring (with proper care) have remained nice, the silver trim around certain areas of the car (like the cup holders) has pulled up like plastic, making parts of the interior look very worn. Overall, I have adored driving the Murano and plan on purchasing a new version when the time ar... (more)

I travel with my three cats consistently, and they have been great traveling companions because of the smooth ride in the Murano. If I leave the carriers open, the cats will roam the vehicle and call out to other vehicles. The other drivers always find this both surprising and adorable.
A Favor
One of the major pros of the 2009 Nissan Murano for me has been the consistently smooth ride. Though I have driven over 150,000 miles, many of it over Southern US backroads, the Murano still does not drive with any serious shakes.
En Contra
My top con regarding the 2009 Nissan Murano is the fact that the gas mileage has increased significantly over the years. However, I know this is a problem that all cars experience as they get older. Another negative aspect, though quite small, is the plastic silver trim over certain parts of the interior, like the cup holders, has peeled up. This makes the interior in general look very used and worn.
