Scion XB - best car ever
Scion XB is made by its parent company, Toyota. It is a Toyota engine. One thing I have noticed about Toyota engines is that as long as you stick to the maintenance schedules, your car will run forever. I have owned the car for 11 years now and not had a single problem. The mileage is great. On average, I'm getting 38 mpg in city and around 40 mpg on the highway. It is a 4 cylinder, so it isn't going to win any speed competitions but it has enough get up and go to navigate steep roads in the mountains with no problem. The Scion XB doesn't look like every other car out there. So on top of having a reliable vehicle, you have a vehicle that you can spot within seconds in any parking lot. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten where I parked and just looked for the box on wheels. It looks like this little tiny car. You can fit it in any compact parking space with room to spare. It is huge inside! It seats 5 comfortably. And not just 5 small 5 foot tall people. My father is 6ft tall and even with the front seat all the way back, when he sits in the back seat he knees don't touch.

Good Entry-Level Vehicle
The 2005 Scion xB is a front-wheel drive "thing" alternatively classified as a hatchback, subcompact, or station wagon - it is not quite any of these things (though it does qualify as subcompact, the amount of interior room is much greater than any other subcompact). It features a very distinctive, boxy appearance.

I would buy a Scion-xB again
This is a really nice car. Some people don't like the look of it, but I think it's really cute. I've used this car for a lot of different things: daily commute, roads trips, hauling heavy product 8+ hours for work, pulling a trailer with heavy work equipment on it, driving in snow/very bad weather. It's held up very well over the years even with daily use and some bigger jobs like hauling the trailer. One of the things I really like is how much room there is in the back if you put the back seats down. That was a really nice feature when I needed to transport a lot of equipment/supplies for work to the next state over. There's so much room in the back, I was able to fit a 32" floor buffer in the back as well as the 4' ramps I used to get it in. The car feels really nice to drive. The interior is also really nice. It's help up well to boxes being stuffed to the top/machinery/cleaning supplies being taken in and out. I haven't noticed any issues with any of the interior. The car gets good gas mileage for being an older car. I've always felt it was very reliable and have never been concerned about going on a long trip in this car. There's very good visibility due to the shape of the car. The windshield and windows are all very large which makes it very easy to see your surroundings.
