My Malibu is wonderful! I have had it for over 7 years now. It is the most dependable car I have ever had. Short of basic maintenance (brakes, tires, oil changes, etc), costs have been minimal. It has only been in the shop once, for a fuel pump replacement. It is very comfortable and roomy inside. The best part is that the view is open, and there are no blind spots. It performs great in all terrain and weather conditions. It handled very well in the ice and snow. It's been over mountain passes with ease, driving on compacted sand at the Pacific Ocean, and regular 125 mile (one way) drives to visit Family. The gas mileage is amazing, considering it is a mid-size sedan with a V6. Generally 27-33 mpg (city/hwy)

I wanted my Malibu before I even found it on the lot. I knew what I was looking for, down to the color. I was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic signal. I just happened to look over, and I caught a glimpse of "the car" parked at the dealership. I asked the driver to turn around so I could take a look. The car wasn't even for sale. The owner was there to test drive a ... (more)

I love my car! The color is my favorite, teal. Very low maintenance. It's fun to drive, corners well, has good power, and the trunk is huge! It has very good safety features such as ABS and Airbags. Child locks on the door are an added bonus for me, as I have little Nieces and Nephews, and a 10 year old Brother. The power locks that engage when car is in gear is so neat. I always feel safe driving my Malibu.
En Contra
My Malibu doesn't have power windows or cruise control. Those are optional, didn't think I needed them at the time, but sure would be nice to have those features now. I don't care for the plastic hubcaps. I have noticed they have started to rattle. Guess that's what happens when you have plastic threads on metal, over time they strip and lose grip. I wish the seats folded down for better cargo hold. It would be nice if there were heater vents in the rear for passengers. Also, the front door panels have speaker "vents" that allow cold air into the vehicle. This is not desirable in the dead ... (more)

One thing I really like off the bat is the reliability of the truck. It truly has the old Toyota reliability people often talk about when it comes to their trucks. My brother and myself bought it at an auction, and we really didn't even plan to buy it. The bids were going really slow on it so we put one in for $700 and won the truck. At the time of getting it, it was running on five cylinders, and the clutch was getting weak. Drove it for a couple weeks off and on without knowing it was running on five, yet it still ran pretty good. The clutch lasted a good 6,000+ miles before going out, and it was slightly starting to slip when we got it when you hit 3,000 RPMs. We've replaced the spark plugs shorty after getting it, changed the fluids, checked the belts, replaced the air filter, got ... When we had a ton of snow this winter climbing some hills out in the woods and rallying it in the snow. It was a blast romping it around the snow and climbing these huge hills that had no tracks in them with very fresh soft snow. Our 32" Mickey Thompson tires pulled through.
A Favor
Toyota reliability is so true when it comes to their older trucks. Look on the road when you drive next and you'll notice a lot of them still running. Much longer than anything else. The only thing that competes is old Hondas, which we also have too. Feels like an actual truck. Body on frame like they should be. I don't like all these crossover vehicles coming to the market. No personality and they're just cars. Extremely fun to drive as a daily especially with big tires and a little lift. Manual is more fun. Great for sleeping in on lunch work breaks or camping.
En Contra
Kind of gutless... The manual transmission helps a lot with that. The auto is really bad. It has that old-school off-road slow truck charm, so it's not a huge deal. Interior is pretty basic. Personally, I like that for off-road vehicles but a lot of people probably won't. Not great on gas, but it's an old slow V6 with big tires and body armor. It's a lot better on gas than my 2000 Nissan Xterra 4WD automatic, however.
