Nice looking car with a retractable sunroof. I love the fact that everything is electric and adjustable. I am a big and tall man and my 6'4" 300lbs fit in the driver seat with room to spare. Drives smooth but gas mileage is a little lower than listed. Great acceleration and braking. Very fun to drive. Giant trunk to store stuff in. No problems except a mysterious power steering fluid leak that went away on its own.

I immediately liked the styling of the Avalon, it looks like a higher class of car. I like the leather seats, lots of leg room, premium sound and lots of extra. It is very comfortable. The trunk is usable even for trips to the airport, long car trips and can hold a lot of soccer equipment including folding chairs. It was rarely in the shop, maintenance and repair costs are generally fair. One of the belts was quite expensive and re-keying is really expensive with that year's engine. In order to re-key it must a part of the engine must be replaced. Toyota has a program to pay for the replacement part but that's still a lot of money for labor. Mileage is quite good for such a comfortable car. It was fun to drive, breaks and handles well. Acceleration is not as great as the newer Avalon model years. I always felt safe and in control while driving the Toyota Avalon.
