Overall a great vehicle that will last well in to the 200,000 mile range without worry.
This car is one of the best I have owned. I am a big fan of Toyota vehicles. I purchased the car used with 199,000 miles, and it is still going strong at 208,976! It is one of those cars that as long as you keep up with the maintenance, it will last forever! The outside body is a little beat up but is definitely more sturdy than most of the newer cars these days! I don't like the fact that it is so low to the ground and the wheels are pretty small, but I think that is because that is what was popular in 1998! The engine is running strong and it eats a little more oil than newer cars, but again that is because it is an older car. The interior is doing alright but it definitely has a bit of sun damage to the interior roof which has made the fabric look like a feral cat got loose in the car! Some of the door handles have been replaced due to just being old. It has one of the roomier interiors of cars I have had as it is much bigger than the 2015 Ford Focus I had last year! The trunk is definitely one of the best things about the car! I feel like I could move half of the interior of a house in it! Overall, this car definitely is one of my favorites that I have driven over the years and would recommend it to anyone!

One of the better economy rides
I like that Toyota finally made a Corolla with some advanced options and a sporty exterior. For an economy car, this one takes the cake. It comes with stylish alloy wheels on the S model and factory standard LED headlights which makes a world of difference if you have trouble seeing at night. The Bluetooth stereo accepts any modern smartphone to stream music and take/receive phone calls. It will even read your text messages out loud as you drive so you can focus on the road. All can be voice activated so your hands stay on the wheel. I picked the Slate Metallic paint as this is one of the better colors offered. It gets insanely exceptional gas mileage on the highway and features a very low maintenance powertrain. It has hybrid softex leather/cloth seats and the S model comes with fog lights. It has tons of room in the trunk and the backseat actually has leg room for adults, unlike previous models. I will say that it is painfully slow on take off, partially because it is the same 1.8 liter that's been around for ten years, yet weighs 500 pounds more than the previous model. The CVT transmission gets most of the blame as its like trying to accelerate through a puddle of cold potato soup. This car would be perfect if it had a standard automatic transmission with real gears. While there is a "sport" button to "mimic" a traditional automatic, it is not the same.
