2012 Ford Escape - Ford Escape: An Excellent Vehicle
I love the size of my vehicle. It's perfect to fit the whole family without getting overcrowded. It's also incredibly durable. I've taken it up to the mountains, over some pretty gnarly roads, and my Ford Escape handles excellently and has never let me down. I also love that the very back is roomy enough to fit my three dogs. They love to lay back there and chill.
Story
My vehicle was just the right size to take camping up at the top of one of our local mountains. We took some off beaten paths to get up there and once up there were able to lay down the back seat and sleep comfortably. It was a lot of fun.
Pros
The pros are the cost: for the price of the vehicle (and I'm now at 120,000) I got a steal. Another pro is how dependable it is. The dash indicators will tell me if my tire pressure is getting low, if my oil needs to be changed, or if there is something wrong with the motor that needs to be looked at. It is also really great on gas mileage.
Cons
One negative thing that I've found is that small rodents are able to crawl into the heater fan from outside. Two summers in a row now I've had to take it to a mechanic to get the fan area cleaned out. The front door also sticks - sometimes I lock it and when I unlock the doors it won't unlock. I also really wish that the headlights were brighter or higher up on the vehicle.
2011 Ford Escape - Durable machine able to take a beating.
I liked that this car came with built in Bluetooth application. I like that the Ford Escape is functional without a ton of maintenance. I like the led lights in the floorboards for night driving because you are able to see your driving instruments. I dislike the gas tank shield on the fuel injection hole. I dislike the sideways engine design.
Story
Driving on the beach in Oregon. Opening the back hatch letting my dog run free. Playing in the sand.
Pros
Solid mid sized SUV that is great for a common sized family, ability to lay down seats to allow for more trunk space. Easy light bulb replacement in all of the socket sites. Regular maintenance is easy to perform. It can handle long trips for vacation destinations. Replacement parts are affordable and can be found in ready supplies.
Cons
Miles per gallon will increase your gas expenditures. Windshield wipers wear out every six months. It's turning radius is not as well off as some comparable SUV models. The water seals on the trunk wear out and start to pull apart after a few years of use. The car is top side heavy and is more prone to roll overs when going around sharp turns.
