Vehicle has nearly made it to 200,000 miles with few mechanical problems. I have yet to be stranded or not been able to make it to my destination in bad weather or driving conditions. I have had to invest little money beyond the initial purchase price, and have never feared for my safety on the road. I feel my vehicle can withstand many road conditions, and will continue to serve me well until I decide to upgrade. The backseat is roomy, the trunk is large, and leg room is no issue. The vehicle sits up high, and makes me feel secure. I have yet to be in an accident, but have no doubt my car would protect me. While I have had much good to say, there is some bad. the door sensors, or mechanisms that detect if the door is secure are broken. The sensor is unable to be replaced by Ford, and ... (more)
Story
I took this car to a local river. I was able to pack many things such as chairs, a picnic, and other needs for a fun day in the sun. I had no issues parking on uneven ground, and was able to get close to the action. I was with my family, and had a blast spending time with them at a fun hangout in nature.
Pros
The car has withstood several hundred thousand miles with little issues. The car still is reliable and gets me to point B every time without fear, trunk is roomy and has gotten me to several travel destinations with much luggage.
Cons
The sensor has gone out and is impossible to replace. I must withstand alarms and flashing lights while driving because a flaw has occurred in the door sensor; Ford is unwilling to help with issues on their make of car, and refuses to release a bad part.

The Ford Escape itself is a wonderful vehicle. I, unfortunately, bought a bad vehicle from a horrible dealer. The SUV brand and type is a fantastic car and would totally recommend it; however, my actual vehicle has had many issues with it which is why I've given it a bad rating above. The vehicle itself is not oversized, making it easy to get in and out of a parking spot but is big enough to hold everything I need. From car seats, animals, groceries, summer beach items, you name it and we've been able to fit in it. The side airbags make it nice to know we are a little more protected. The latch system is fantastic when picking up my young niece and nephew and needing their car seats. I do wish the engine was a little faster as it takes a bit for the car to get moving when stopped at a l... (more)
Story
When I first bought my car, my sweet niece got in it and was tickled pink and so excited that it was a little bigger and cleaner than my last car. I had my last one for over 8 years so it was definitely nice to have something newer. I drive in Michigan and love being able to see above the smaller cars and drive through the snow.
Pros
Absolutely love the sync system. Being able to connect my phone is awesome. I can listen to Pandora while I'm driving to work in the morning which is nice while sitting in traffic. Love the latch system, making it super easy to hook and un-hook my nephews car seat. Love that I can control the radio from the steering wheel. Enjoying that I can drive an SUV without it being so large and hard to handle. There is a lot of room and space to hold everything I need. Fantastic idea to have the extra mirror on the side mirror so I can see the next lane better.
Cons
The sync system does not automatically connect to my phone when I get in. When I'm in a hurry, it takes me a few extra minutes to get it all set up every time I get in the car. That's a little frustrating. Would be nice if it had a little better pick up when you step on the gas. Would love it would tell the temp outside/inside or have a place for sunglasses. Maybe a little mirror in the front to see the back seat for when I have the kids.

Dealership is nice and clean, new building, lots of cars on the lot to choose from and they can easily find more. Staff was rather pressuring though, and the service department seems sub-par, but the dealership as a whole is nice.
