2014 Ford Focus - The reason why I love our car.
I love my Ford Focus. It is comfortable and great on gas! I can fill up the tank and then go on that tank of gas for over a week. I love the safety features because I have a toddler, and the door lock safety feature is the best. I am very concerned for my child's safety at all times, so this car really puts my worries at ease. I love the storage capacity as well. We fit all of our gear that we need to use and take with us on our travels. My family and I love to go on weekend trips and sometimes day trips. Being able to take what we need with us is a must. My car is able to do that. I really love how reliable this vehicle is because we need something durable and dependable to take care of our needs. Getting in our vehicle at the end of the day after a long hard day of working where I am... (more)
Story
My husband and I took a recent trip to Florida this past summer. We packed up what we needed and strapped in our daughter's car seat and took a trip down to the beach. I loved how this vehicle got us down there on three quarter tank of gas. We also were seated comfortably and was able to navigate and drive the car smoothly where we needed to go. We even got compliments from others on how nice ... (more)
Pros
I love how safe my 2014 Ford Focus is. It is comfortable and spacious. The safety features are a plus! It drives really smooth. I also really like how since mine is a manual transmission, the car tells me when to down shift or up shift to the next gear. That is very helpful. I love how this straight shift vehicle is so easy to drive versus other vehicles that are manual transmissions. The reminders that alert you to change your oil are great. Because sometimes we always lose the sticker that the mechanics put on the windows. One of my favorites as well is the steering column has controls t... (more)
Cons
There are some things I do not like about the Ford Focus 2014. I do get annoyed at the constant repetitive reminders of things that it alerts me -- even though I know they are there for my safety and things. I do get annoyed when I am in a hurry, and I hear the beeping. The main problem I have is that the batter is in a very awkward place. It is under the hood at the top right section but up under the body of the car. It makes it hard to get to if you have to hook jumper cables to it to help someone to boost off. I do not like the placement of this item. Especially if it's raining outside ... (more)
2013 Ford Focus - "Average car"
I bought this car used because I do home health and the reviews were good for great gas mileage. The price was good for what I was wanting, the overall look of the car I am pleased with. The biggest issue I have is the transmission is "jerky" at times. I am fearful of having to pull out quickly due to I'm afraid the car won't get me there fast enough to avoid an accident. The rubber trim around all the doors is very fragile and has already come apart and I've had to put it in place several times. The cloth seats are VERY easily stained, even with just a drop of water it leaves a stain. The comfort of the seats is something I do like, the driver seat is very comfortable and since I'm in my car a lot due to my job, that is important to me. I enjoy all the "fancy" dashboard items, compute... (more)
Story
I do home health and drive my car a lot. I am constantly in and out of the car during the day. I have 2 teenagers who have always "named" my car in the past. I purchased this car a little over 6 months ago and had my daughter "name" the car. She thought and thought and since the car is grey in color she thought "Gary" would be a great name! Gary is the snail on SpongeBob and my daughter says I... (more)
Pros
When I first saw the car I really liked the overall "sporty" appearance of the car. It's a small car that really looked good to me. Most importantly the gas mileage was what I was looking for in a new car. I do home health and drive a lot so of course I want a great car for gas mileage. This car is great with averaging over 31 miles per gallon currently. I personally think that is wonderful with all the stop and go that I do. I enjoy the radio/CD player and love the Bluetooth capabilities in the car. The "hands free" is wonderful when you drive a lot and need to use the phone. I like that ... (more)
Cons
The most negative aspect of this car is the transmission being very "jerky" at times. It is something I have researched and this particular year model has that problem. I don't feel like I can trust the car if I need to pull out quickly. It doesn't do it all the time so I never know if the car will actually have the "jerk" reaction. The rubber trim around all the doors in my opinion is very cheap. The rubber "seal" in the rear doors just comes loose and I have had to put it back in place each time. When I go through a car wash or if it rains I always find water in the bottom of the door fr... (more)
