I think the Ford Escape is a wonderful, practical car for someone on a budget. It's so reliable. I've had it almost two years and put about 20,000 miles on it with absolutely no mechanical issues that affect how it runs. I love that it's cute, affordable, and reliable. It's a very practical car and it runs great.
Story
On the 4th of July, my friends are I got REALLY drunk.. (with a DD) and were riding around the beach screaming 'FREEDOM' and 'AMERICAAA!!' out of my sunroof.
Pros
It is cute with clean lines and is pretty compact for an SUV, but still spacious enough to carry all of my belongings! Literally! I love the sunroof. The seats and windows are all conveniently automatic. The sound system is intuitive and easy to function. The gas is also really affordable for an SUV. I've never spent more than $25 on my tank, which lasts me over 400 miles.
Cons
There are a couple small quirks. I've had a weird/random issue with the ignition switch. It thinks the keys are still in the car at all times, and it beeps when the driver door is open even if I'm holding my keys. It's not a huge deal and no one else has noticed until I've pointed it out. I got it fixed but it went back to beeping. Only two more things: the handle to adjust the steering wheel is hard to find. I always forget where it is and can't find it. Lastly the cruise control option is a little confusing, but once you get the hang of it it's fine.

I bought my Escape with 20,000 miles on it. I drove it 100 miles per day 5 days a week for over a year, putting 40,000 more miles on it. The car is comfortable to drive. My long commute would often mean that I would spend 2 hours or more in the car at a time. The Ford SYNC technology is great for making and receiving calls and the Bluetooth audio function is good for streaming music or listening to audio books. I have not yet had any mechanical issues with car. What I don't like is that is more of a car than an SUV. I drove a similar car prior to this (Mazda Tribute which was basically and Escape) and it was an SUV. The gas mileage is poor, averaging 25 miles to the gallon with mosey flat highway miles. For something that drives like a car, I'd expect better gas mileage. There us less ... (more)
Story
The car is great now that my weekly commute is less than 20 miles. And I love the fun teal color.
Pros
Comfortable. Mechanically sound at 60,000 miles. Ford SYNC.
Cons
Feels like a car not an SUV. Motor is not powerful. Poor gas mileage (25 mpg). Feels like driving an aluminum can, door pops like can when I open it. Small cargo area. Small gas tank (about 13 gallons).

The finance manger saved the day when it came to me buying a car. He took over for the sales associate and was able to bring down our monthly payments to a reasonable amount.

They helped finance me, my credit wasn't the greatest. I had some service/performance issues shortly after purchasing the car. They repaired the problems for me, even though it was not covered under the warranty. Very helpful and friendly staff!
