2016 Ford Focus - My first car is not what I expected.
I loved my car at first. I loved the style for the price. Of course I wanted a fancy car that was a luxury vehicle but I was a first time buyer and minimum wage was 7.25. I had always wanted a smaller car. I thought it was the perfect size for me. And it still is. I loved how it was extremely more advanced than my 2008 Honda CR-V. At first my car was very smooth. very new gliding on air feeling. pretty soon after we had to pick up and move across the country. We drove from North Carolina to California in 5 days. I have so many memories in that car. Did I forget to mention we have 2 dogs? Oh, yeah. we have 2 dogs, 1 large breed and one giant breed. We also shoved everything we could into the car without blocking the windows. It wasn't a luxurious roomy drive but it was actually comforta... (more)

We also shoved everything we could into the car without blocking the windows. It wasn't a luxurious roomy drive but it was actually comfortable. It is a great size. The mileage on it is amazing. My husband is the primary driver now and drives it to and form work. his work is about 30 miles away so that helps us a lot. Gas prices are crazy in California. Unfortunately we got a letter in the mail stating that all of the focus and fiestas of 2016 had a transmission recall. Our car began to stutter after a few months. I thought it was my husbands driving. Thank goodness it wasn`t. but now I have to return my car. I will be getting a new one instead of fixing the transmission. I just cant take a chance on the car now that I know it has problems and possibly more. if it wasn't for the transmission issue I would like the car. the inside is something you have to pay close attention to. its like cheap plastic. All in all if the car was cheaper and had no manufacturer errors I might recommend it to a first time buyer who only needs a car to go to and from work.
Traveling across the country was my most memorable story in the car. It was an amazing bonding experience for all of us.

Comfortable, breathable easy cleaning fabric, great mileage, looks good for the price, back up camera.

Very small horse power, you can't go very fast very quickly, cheap plastic inside, a transmission issue, would like more room in trunk, seems like a car you have to treat very gently.

2007 Ford Focus - No-frills reliability
I like the Focus. It could be more powerful, more sleek and sophisticated, more economical, more of any other countless attributes that cars are these days, but it is what it is, a reliable, no-frills type of car. It gets me from point A to point B with minimal hassle. The fuel economy is pretty good in my opinion, I believe the tank is about 12 gallons and it gets me to and from work every day and whatever else I end up doing at the end of each day, I have to fill it up about once every 8 or 9 days. That's pretty good to me, I work relatively far and I have to climb a big hill each day to get there. Aside from the fuel economy, I think the front end and back ends are both pretty attractive, the car is fun and it is down to always be on the go with me. I will probably end up trading it... (more)

I will probably end up trading it in for something a little more "grown up" at some point, but for right now, the Focus fulfill all my needs and then some, the price was very reasonable and I haven't had to exert a lot of excess funds at it, just regular oil changes and other preventative maintenance, this will be the 8th year that I've owned it and it's holding up pretty well.
