Power for the Price!
I had a 2002 Mustang GT with a manual transmission - man this car was fun! I primarily drove it to work which was only a few miles a day, but I always looked forward to the drive. I also used the car for autocross racing, which was a lot of fun but a bit sub-optimal since the Mustang GTs is not known for its performance on a tight road course (which most of the autocross tracks are). Modifications: the car was mostly stock but I made a few (critical) upgrades that every Mustang owner should really make: Flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, K&N air filter, short-shifter, custom shift knob, 10 inch sub-woofer (nice addition to the Ford Mach Audio System) Exterior: Great, aggressive looks...black or dark silver looks best on this car. The premium alloy wheels are a must. The doors are a bit large and swing out pretty wide...be careful in close parking lots! Interior: Really comfortable front seats, non-existent backseat. The interior is really nice compared to a similar level Chevy Camaro. The standard shift knob needs replacement. Performance: lots of fun off the line, with plenty of power to drop the clutch and spin the rear tires. The GTs have a solid rear axle that likes to break loose in corners (be careful turning off the traction control). Despite this, the solid rear axle is actually quite predictable once you get the feel for it and can be fun sliding around corners (don't try this at home!) I had zero maintenance issues with the car, and did all of the routine stuff myself (oil, breaks, etc.) are all pretty easy due to the spacious engine bay and standard parts. One last thing, this car really held its value, if you keep in in good condition and keep the miles down these things are a hot commodity!
