1998 Ford Ranger - Extremely reliable.
I love my Ford Ranger. It looks and drives just how I want it. If I keep up the regular maintenance, I rarely encounter problems. It is big enough to use as a work truck, but small enough to not guzzle gas.
Story
A memorable story I have is when my friends and I went camping. I had to drive down to the site since all of the equipment was in the back of my truck. Well it rained overnight and the dirt became mud. We couldn't get it unstuck for about an hour of trying different ways of getting it out. Finally I remembered about the 4 wheel drive, switched it over, and drove right out of the mud. Needless ... (more)
Pros
My favorite thing about it is that it has optional four wheel drive. I don't get into a lot of situations where I have needed it, but when I did, it saved me from having to call a tow truck.
Cons
The things I don't like about the truck are that it doesn't have a rear window that opens, there isn't much space inside the extended cab, and it will haul stuff, but only in medium sized loads at one time.
2003 Ford Ranger - Excellent vehicle.
My 2003 Ford Ranger Edge has been the best used vehicle purchase I've ever made. The truck had 91,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2009. It now has over 200,000 miles on it and is still running strong. It has plenty of power, and has never needed any major mechanic work done to it. The truck has been used as a daily driver for an extensive work commute, and always performed well. It is comfortable, even for long trips, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Story
I drove this truck to Panama City on a last minute trip to see my military friends.
Pros
The truck has great heat, and the coldest air conditioning than any other vehicle I've ever been in. Comfortable seats, roomy interior, adequate storage space, and a bed to haul things.
Cons
The roof is a little short for taller people.
