I purchased the 2008 Ford Edge from my parents when it was just three years old. I truly love this car. The size of the car and the power behind it makes it perfect for long road trips or even a simple commute in the city, as I live in Metro Atlanta. The best feature of the car is the handling, second only to the size of the car. It drives like a dream, and with routine maintenance, it will last many more years. Since I purchased the car, I have only a very small number of complaints. The gas mileage is not the greatest, especially now that it is a little older. In the city, which is where the majority of my driving takes place, I average about 13-14 miles per gallon, whereas on the highway, I can stretch that up to about 24-26. There is no Bluetooth feature in this vehicle, although t... (more)
Story
We drove this car up to Niagara Falls a few years ago and it was perfect. Even climbing mountains in North Carolina, it handles like a dream.
Pros
Handles like a dream. Size is perfect for comfort during long road trips.
Cons
Gas mileage. No Bluetooth feature.

My 2011 Ford Edge has performed well over the 5 years I have owned it, with only one out of pocket, non maintenance related repair. It still looks and drives like a new car after over 100,000 miles, no interior rattles or drive train components needing repair. It is maneuverable like a sedan but has the cargo capabilities of an SUV.
Story
Driving through the North Carolina mountains in the Edge was a nice trip, it performed well and the panoramic moon roof was a joy during the night time driving.
Pros
Many high-end car features such as the push button start and auto sensing door locks with proximity sensor. The SYNC hands free system is very convenient and easy to use, and the panoramic sun roof is very nice in the day and night. The drivers side door entry keypad has come in handy many times. It has a nice stereo, too, with many speakers and a factory subwoofer in the cargo area.
Cons
Back up camera failed around 60,000 miles. Fuel economy is around 20 mpg, should be better for the 3.5 liter V6 engine. Vehicle weighs over two tons, very heavy. 20" wheels are chrome pad coated and not really chrome or polished, they are not repairable and have to be replaced completely if damaged ($500+ used!). Only able to tow 2,000 lbs, should have a higher towing capacity.
