I bought this vehicle as a sophomore in high school (7 years ago) from my friend's grandmother. Since I purchased it, I've had little to no problems with it. The car is functional, and has a large trunk. I'm able to fit almost anything I need to into the trunk, and one of the seats in the back go down to extend the trunk. Additionally, it has a 6th seat in the front in between the driver and passenger. The break pads seem to wear off quickly, and the gas mileage is OK. I have never been involved in an accident, and if I did I feel I would be safe. The one thing I dislike about the car is that it doesn't look sporty. It looks like an older individuals car based on the frame and overall shape. The inside of the car is also pretty dated, it doesn't have too many additions or perks. Seats ... (more)
Story
I used my car and it's large trunk to transport a lawn mower to and from my relatives house when I would mow it in the summer. Which is a testament to it's versatility and ability to transport some unique things for a smaller car.
Pros
I liked how it was an American car which made repairs (the few that I made) pretty cheap. Additionally, I like that it has a lot of space and also had the ability to fit a 6th passenger in the front. The trunk is very large and allows me to fit almost anything I need to in it. The gas mileage has been good and the car allows me to accelerate pretty quickly.
Cons
The overall look is certainly a negative. The car isn't very sporty or sleek looking compared to most of the models that are out there today. I also dislike the interior of the car, it looks old and doesn't have many places in the front to store things such as money, wallet, phone, etc. The break pads wore out very fast.

2005 Ford Taurus - Reliable car that lives up to its value.

I used to avoid Fords like the plague, because I had learned the motto, Fixed Or Repaired Daily, F.O.R.D. is what Ford stands for. Yet, at a time when I had to buy a car ASAP with less than $2000, I found a Ford and decided to buy it. I was surprised by how reliable this car has been. I didn't think it would run for over a year, but here we are at 200,000 miles and almost two years later, and the Ford is still going strong. I've had to do some minimal repairs, but nothing major or too expensive.
Story
My boyfriend and I had to sleep together in the backseat for three nights in the winter. He is over 6 feet tall, but we somehow fit quite well after cuddling up. Also, surprisingly, we were comfortably warm rather than freezing to death, since the car is pretty well insulated. That is a memory that neither of us will ever forget.
Pros
This car does great in the snow. Between the weight of the car and front wheel drive, I have successfully driven through multiple snow storms this year with above average handling, even up hills, while I see other cars pulled over or stuck on the side of the road. The backseat is also surprisingly roomy. When traveling, I have chosen to sleep in the backseat rather than waste money on a few hours in a hotel. And I've had numerous great night sleeps in the backseat. I even forget that I am sleeping in a car. I am surprised that at 200,000 miles, I haven't had to do any major transmission, e... (more)
Cons
The few repairs I have had to do resulted from some of the parts under the hood being made of plastic, instead of metal as in other cars I've owned. I guess these plastic parts get too hot sometimes and melt, becoming unusable and difficult to replace. Also, it is important to wash the car after every snowstorm, especially the undercarriage, since rust spots will appear quicker than I'm used to with other cars.

Prior to the purchase, I used to drive past the dealership on my way back and forth from work. They came highly recommended from my coworkers, and I had a very good reason to buy because my previous vehicle needed repairs valued at about its current value in the market. The purchase itself was relatively easy, maybe because I knew what I wanted in terms of vehicle and financing. The staff are super friendly, not just the sales people, but the mechanics as well. I haven't had as positive an experience with other businesses in the area, especially in the automotive services industry. I recommend Mathieu's strongly.

Walking into Quirk lets you now that you've come to the right place. The prices are thousands below everyone else and the discount doesn't come at the cost of service or the customer experience. From snacks and beverages to sales associate that can understand customer wants and needs, it has everything that you could want. When talking about customer needs I don't just mean that they know about their vehicles but that they're good at reading people. If you want to be left alone they will do that while also making themselves readily available to answer any questions that you might have.
