Overall, I have really enjoyed enjoyed owning a 2008 Ford Escape. It has been a great choice for me because of what I do for a living. I am a music teacher and drive daily to teach in home lessons. I always feel very safe in this medium sized SUV. It is large enough to hold anything I need to transport whether I am driving groceries home or vacation. I have even made a move across the country with nothing but whatever would fit into this car and found it was the perfect size for my belongings. I know they come in a variety of colors and I especially love the color of mine: red. Even though I live in a large city, I feel it is easy to maneuver and park anywhere I need to. I would definitely buy this car again if given the chance.
Story
I live in Boston and have to parallel park often. This is something I was worried about doing in a medium sized SUV when we first moved here but I've found it quite easy! The back and front ends are very easy to see so parallel parking has been no problem at all and I feel like a successful accomplished driver.
Pros
Medium sized SUV that is very safe if you’re in an accident, large enough to fit many belongings, comfortable seats, smooth ride, quiet ride, nice sound system.
Cons
Not great gas mileage ~ 20-25 mpg, transmission went out after owning it 3 years.

I love my Ford Escape because it's the perfect size SUV for me. It's not too small, and it easily works both in town and feels good while on a longer trip. It's very quiet inside which was a big consideration for me while shopping for this vehicle. It also "gets and goes" when you step on the gas which is necessary in my opinion for merging into heavy traffic. The heated seats feel so cozy and are a must for living in a cold climate. I love the silver color which is an outstanding silver with no muddy undertones that some cars have. The fold-down split rear seats provide lots of room for me to make Home Depot runs and to take animals to the vet. There is great visibility, too. And again, the size....it's perfect. When I compared it to the smaller SUVs that were more expensive, well no ... (more)
Story
I used it to move five cats and one dog 1,200 miles to my new home. They all had a bonding experience and now all sleep together after being in the back of the escape for 24 hours straight!
Pros
Size, quiet interior with low road noise, fold-down rear seats, heated seats, silver color is better than other silver on cars, and dependable.
Cons
Poor mileage, air sensors often don't work properly, and Bluetooth not reliable

Staff was friendly, local, plenty of cars to choose from. It was mostly important that the dealership was a non-chain, so I felt like I wasn't as likely to get gypped by a salesman.

They made it incredibly easy to get the vehicle I wanted, and helped me out several times with small extras (all of which were free) after my purchase.
