I purchased my 2011 Honda CRV in 2015 with about 58,000 miles on it. I have since put roughly 50,000 miles on it. The car drives fantastic. It's very comfortable and I have had absolutely no mechanical issues with it at all. It's been driven everywhere. From Minnesota to Florida and all in between. I've never had more of a reliable, safe, comfortable car. It starts every winter and gets decent gas mileage on those long road trips.
Story
This is the vehicle my family and I took down to Florida - a very long road trip - to see my brother get married. I grew up in Orlando and had not been there in about ten years. I hadn't seen the ocean in about ten years, either. I remember crossing into Florida in this car, I remember finally being able to smell the ocean while driving this car. Our family has taken many road trips in this ca... (more)
Pros
The 2011 Honda CRV is very comfortable and reliable. Those are my two top things I look at in a vehicle. This car gets taken on many road trips along with a two year old in tow. I feel safe in this car and it drives very smooth. Added bonus: the heated seats (which come in handy in the winter) and the sunroof.
Cons
This is a very small negative thing, but the seal going around the front winter has come apart and we've had to glue it several times. This is a pretty insignificant con.

The 2008 Honda CRV is a great vehicle for a mid-size family. This vehicle is easily maintained and most parts are easy to access. The interior is roomy but feels very safe. The seat and console seems to conform around you. The ride is smooth and the gas mileage is great. The great thing about the CRV is if you have a Honda Civic, the repair manual is almost identical.
Story
The vehicle is big enough to allow you to transport cargo but also small enough to zip in and around traffic. The tie downs have been extremely helpful when I am transporting ladders and over-sized items on the roof. I have never felt like anything was going to come off.
Pros
The parts for the vehicle are readily available in auto parts store and pretty easy to install. The plastic interior is pretty durable and should last through the lifetime of the car if maintained properly. The turning radius is pretty great and the SUV drives more like a car. The fold down seats allow you to get more things inside and transport a wide variety of cargo.
Cons
The fold down seats should fold into the floor. Due to it not folding down into the floor there is about a foot of space that is lost. The 2008 CRV and possibly others have issues with the wiper motor. I had to replace it within a couple of months of owning the vehicle. I wished the roof rack had the horizontal struts as well. It would be very nice to be able tie down the cargo on top.

Easy time negotiating purchase price with salesperson and the time between the beginning of the paperwork and receiving the car was fairly quick. And they had snacks.
