The amazing Odyssey.
The Odyssey has been our best vehicle purchase. We purchased this when we were adding a new little one to our family. We are a family of four now and travel fairly often. The Odyssey is exactly what we need for our trips and allows for extra passengers and cargo without jeopardizing any space. Our decision in purchasing the Odyssey was driven largely by the safety ratings. We wanted a quality, long-lasting vehicle that would be a safe environment for all of us. We did a lot of research in other vehicles prior to making our decision. We recently returned from a vacation where we were, once again, reminded of how great our van is. The mileage it gets is great, and the comfort level, even when riding in back, is untouched! Our only wish is that it contained other arm rests when for the middle seats when the middle seat is removed. Other than that, we have no complaints. The van is very well made. We hope to drive this van forever!

Great van that drives like a car.
I purchased this car used a few months back with 118,000 miles on it. It runs great and has performed very well with all I have asked of it to this point. I fully expect to get another 100,000 miles out of it. It has excellent pick-up for such a heavy vehicle and is a breeze to drive even in the urban environment in which I live. The touring package comes with DVD player and drop down screens for the backseat. Not surprisingly, these items do not work, so it is on my list to pop out the DVD player and fix the problem with it, which can easily be found online. All the driver controls are easily accessible and sitting in the driver's seat feels like the cockpit of an airplane, you are snug and comfortable with all your tools within reach. There is plenty of room in the van to seat 7 total people and you could squeeze 8 adults in if you really wanted and still have room for a fair amount of cargo. I have taken all the seats out and started converting the back into a little camper and there is more room than I would've ever thought to work with. I could not be happier with my choice of this van.

Should have done more homework
I was so excited to be able to finally get a Honda Odyssey mini van. When I test drove the used car at the dealership, it felt great, worked great, and I was thrilled to drive it home. That's the happiest I've been with the car since we took ownership. Within three months, the electrical system began to short out. The third time I was stranded with a dead battery due to the interior lights coming on without my knowledge, I made an appointment with the dealership to fix the issue. They ended up cutting the cord to all interior lights because they could not find where the short was located. Every summer, once the temperature rose above 80 degrees, the passenger side sliding door would decide not to close all the way. This also happened whenever the temperature dropped below 30 degrees. Now, we need yet another new transmission (we had to replace the original when it hit 125K miles, we are at 168K now) and I'm just done with this car.
My favorite thing about the car was the trunk space. It really is fabulous! The rear seat completely folds into the floor, creating a flat surface. We drove up to IKEA and were able to easily fit our purchases in the car. That was the absolute best part of the entire vehicle. This room does require that the spare tire be located between the second row and front row seats-not ideal at all if you're stuck on the side of the road with three kids and a flat tire. Overall, I'd do my homework before purchasing a car again. Had I done it in the first place, I would have noticed a trend among 2001 Honda Odysseys--issues with transmissions and electrical systems are the main things that popped up when I finally did a Google search.

The salesman was down to earth and understood that most people do their shopping on the web now. He ran our credit before we got there ensuring we would qualify for the special financing. The entire transaction was completed in under 30 minutes from when we walked through the door. They had the car 2 days later and we picked it up and signed all paperwork in about 20 minutes.

For one, this dealer didn't react to two women walking in to buy a car like we were insignificant. (You'd be surprised how many dealers completely ignored us when we were looking to buy.) Second, they'd gone above and beyond regular repairs/maintenance for the used car we bought and it really looked like they genuinely cared about the car.
