I have had my Honda Pilot for almost 7 years. It was my first SUV and I love it! It has over 105,000 miles and the drive is still smooth! Despite its size it is also easy to maneuver. The gas mileage is not too bad considering the size. I get 24 miles to the gallon on the highway. I have had minimal maintenance issues with this car and have overall been very happy with my purchase!
Story
My most fun memory with the Pilot is taking my kids to a Safari type park where you drive through and feed the animals. The kids had so much fun reaching out of the windows with the animals at eye level. They also hoped back into the trunk area when they were scared of the larger animals. They still talk about that visit!
Pros
My favorite feature of this car is the third row and size of the rows. I have two small children and can easily fit two large convertible car seats in the middle row with plenty of room for an adult in the middle seat. The third row is an added feature when we have visitors or want friends to ride with us. There is also ample room in the trunk when the third row is collapsed. As a mom, these features are crucial for transporting friends, strollers, luggage and other necessary equipment.
Cons
I wish my car had a button to automatically close the trunk. I know it sounds minor, but that would be a huge help when rounding up little kids and carrying groceries. I also wish I had selected the 4wd option for various weather conditions.

In the many years I owned this Pilot it has never given my any trouble beyond two recalls about airbag problems. The only times I need to go to a dealer are to do the regular inspections and change oils. This car is versatile. With the built-in top racks, you can haul the kayak, bike, camping gears, or whatever's on your list to wherever you like. This car is rough and tough enough to go off the beaten roads, yet gentle and classy enough to put a baby in and drive in any metropolitan area. The Honda Pilot is one of the few mid-sized crossover cars which can seat eight people. If you have a big family, this car can transport your whole family to your destinations. Even if you don’t have that many people in your family, you will be happy to have those seats there when you have visitors. ... (more)
Story
We drove the car to beach and caught a lot of blue crabs.
Pros
Versatile - you can use it as a day to day family car and "go anywhere" SUV. Eight seat capacity is great, too.
Cons
The back row seat area is tight, mostly just for kids.

The things that I like most about my pilot, are, its affordable, reliable, safe and big enough for my whole family. Its also fairly comfortable and has enough room for storage, with more on top with the carriage if need be. The gas mileage is decent for and SUV, and its low maintenance, and it handles ok and its not overly top heavy like some SUVs. I am not crazy about how it looks, its a little to boxy for me, and I would like a little bit more storage room. It also doesn't accelerate very fast and does have a lot of blind spots, especially when backing up. Overall though, I think its a decent family car, still look better than some, and is not a minivan which is a big plus. I would recommend this car to others, especially ones with a family.
