My wife purchased this car around 7 years ago when it already had 100,000 miles on it for a little over $10,000. I remember being so angry because it is a big vehicle so it only gets around 18-20 mpg and this was back when fuel was over $4.00/gallon. However, we have now passed the 200,000 mark and the vehicle is still running strong. We have only had to do basic maintenance work at the mechanic at this point and, outside of a timing belt it looks like we will not have to do much else. I feel confident I will get 300,000+ miles out of this vehicle.
Story
Not sure how fun or memorable this is but this being a family vehicle just used for getting places there is not much to tell. However, the car's radio, CD player, and movie player all quit working one day after my wife brought it home from the store. So anyhow, she had a bad habit of letting our two year old play with the steering wheel for a few minutes after they would get home. Apparentl... (more)
Pros
Some pros for this vehicle are that it is dependable, well-made, roomy, and for its size 18-20 mpg is not that bad. Especially now that fuel prices have dropped.
Cons
Honestly, I do not have many complaints with this vehicle. It could get better fuel mileage but for the size and age of this vehicle I can't complain.

The Pilot is not a huge SUV so it's pretty good on gas. It looks nice enough, but it's pretty small for a third row SUV. It's not a really expensive car to purchase used. Overall, it's a decent mid-level quality vehicle that will get you where you need to go. It does hold its value fairly well as long as you keep the mileage low.
Story
One time it snowed really bad, and I had to park on the street at work. It snowed over a foot while I was there, I had no shovel to dig myself out so I had to just hit the gas and go over all the snow. It was pretty fun to be able to just plow over top the snow bank.
Pros
The vehicle does fabulous in the snow. It requires little maintenance. It's visually appealing and drives like a car. It is fairly good on gas for a vehicle its size. It has seat warmers built into the leather seats. All of the seats lay down to give you room to put larger items as long as you don't require any additional passengers. It does have a sunroof which is nice.
Cons
The sound system could be better. The keys break very easily. Once you put the third row up, there is pretty much no room in the back. There isn't much leg room at all in the back seat behind the driver and front passenger. The back hatch is hard to close. The leather seats get ragged looking very easily. For long trips, it's not very comfortable to drive as it is small inside. The seats are hard to put down and up. The buttons for the sunroof and to use cruise control are not easily accessible.

I love my Honda Pilot. First of all, I bought it because I was nervous driving my first born around in my Accord. Yes, I'm that mother! But what the Pilot offers is more than I ever expected! First of all, the interior has taken a major beating in the 10 years (and three kids) that I have had it. The seats have held up wonderfully, and there are no cracks. My carpeting is stained a bit, but I rarely shampoo it. The driving is more car-like than truck-like. And if you take long road trips, you will greatly appreciate this comfort. It also has three rows (rear row is also split seat) which is great because I have three kids. I also still have a trunk when the full rear seat is up. Another thing great for trips! Keep the kids separated! At one point in time, I even had three car seats acr... (more)
Story
Last summer my family went on vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. We took my Pilot out on the beach for miles and drove around the northernmost banks. We followed several herds of wild horses, which was really cool! This is a memory my kids will cherish for a long time.
Pros
Top positive things about my vehicle is the comfort level of the "ride" along with the amount of space for my family. I also have a 6CD changer which is pretty awesome!
Cons
There really aren't many negative things about my Pilot. Of course the gas mileage could be better, as it could be with any truck/SUV. I also wish it didn't have a timing belt, as newer cars do not. This is an expensive but necessary service.
