The main reason I bought the Pilot was the space it has throughout the whole vehicle, but specifically the trunk and back seat. All the back seats fold down to make a much larger trunk to haul around whatever you might need to move from a different state or even to go out on a camping trip.
Story
Taking my Pilot to camp is great because there is so much room in the trunk area to keep all the supplies you might need.
Pros
-A large amount of space -Pretty Gas friendly for being A SUV -Great sound system -Drives more like A car than A truck or SUV -Decent cost of insurance -Very quiet engine -Does not make A whole lot of noise when driving
Cons
-not four wheel drive -A little bit more money that I was hoping to spend on A car

I purchased the vehicle used in 2013. I did get the three-year extended warranty on it. Fuel economy is to be expected for a larger SUV, roughly 17 mpg. At the lowest trim, it doesn't have many of the features that more expensive ones have - it does not have GPS or a sunroof. But then again, I'm old-school and I'm fine with that. The car was comfortable for five people (one was seven month's pregnant) to take for a 600+ mile road trip. It has about 110,000 miles on it now, and is still going pretty strong. It's been mostly routine maintenance (except for one issue - see the "cons" section below).
Story
I took a road trip to Durango with my family, and it was very comfortable for five people and all of our luggage.
Pros
I really like the cargo space: it has fold-flat seating that I have used on multiple occasions. I also drive around my now two-year old daughter that is in a car seat, and still has plenty of room for two people in the middle row seat. It has a trailer hitch that I've used on occasion, and handles the hills of Colorado pretty well. It's a Honda, so it's going to run for a long time.
Cons
Overall, the maintenance has been pretty minor. In the time I've owned it, I had to replace the brakes once and the timing belt. However, this particular model was subject to a recall for spark plugs misfiring. The initial fix is to replace the spark plugs, but that's not the true issue - the underlying problem is the piston cylinders. They deteriorate too fast, which causes oil to leak throughout the engine (thereby gunking up the spark plugs). I really liked the sales agent we worked with. He was not your stereotypical used car salesman, although he wanted to get the sale he was fair and was interested in knowing what I wanted from my car.
