The Honda Civic LX is a great little car. I have now driven it for over 150,000 miles and have only had to do routine maintenance so far. The car has had a few recalls, which the dealership performs at no cost and in a convenient manner. The vehicle itself performs well. The Civic gets approx. 30 MPG with routine city and highway combined driving, which means I usually spend about $50 on gas each month. The car feels reliable. It runs well, with minimal noise and no major scary noises to contend with. It is fairly standard, style-wise, with a nice grey upholstered interior that looks neither flashy nor cheap. The car itself looks somewhat sporty, even though it is not a traditional sports car, with a sleek aerodynamic appearance. Touch up paint (a must for city living) can be bought at any dealership and helps cover up those little nicks and scratches that happen over time. The vehicles are easy to service in the city, and minor tasks like oil changes can be done with ease at home. It comes with on board anti-theft devices (but doesn't annoyingly sound every time someone walks by), but if you really want an anti-theft device, buy the manual transmission!

This is a great car for a new driver or for anyone who doesn't need anything nice. It's a great car to get you from point a to point b, but does not include many extra bells and whistles. The car is super reliable and requires much additional work outside of regular scheduled maintenance. It gets great gas mileage, has a comfortable interior, and I think it looks pretty great. It has a great build as well - I have about 150k miles on it and it shows no signs of slowing down. Overall a great car that's held its value over the last few years.
