I bought my 2014 Chevy Cruze in spring of 2016, and since buying it I have put about 30,000 more miles on it. I have had zero major mechanical issues so far and it has been a very reliable car. My boyfriend actually liked my car so much he bought the same model as well! It gets great gas mileage for being a mid-sized sedan, usually 25-35 MPG. While it is only a 4-cylinder, the turbo makes up for the power and it is very fast and relatively powerful. I used it for driving Lyft for about a year and got many positive comments about it, it looks like a higher-end car than it actually is. The car seats 5 people comfortably, and has a large trunk that can extend into the cab when the rear seat is folded down to make room for large items. One of my favorite aspects about the car is the ample ... (more)
Story
Driving through the mountains -- my car has taken mountain drives like a champ. We have driven the car from Denver to locations in the mountains up I-70 on a few occasions and always had a great time!
Pros
Lots of cup holders. Great gas mileage, 25/35 MPG. Easy to drive, no blind spots and smooth handling. More powerful than a typical 4 cylinder car because of the turbo. Comfortable. Everything about the car is very durable. Large trunk, lots of storage space.
Cons
Not easy to repair without taking it to a mechanic: the engine is configured kind of strangely and needs a lot of specialized tools. Needs the transmission flushed more frequently than other cars, every 30,000 miles. Synthetic oil changes are more expensive.

The turbo made the car way more enjoyable to drive, but the handling is subpar at best. Overall, the build quality was incredibly low. I had to fix several parts multiple times even after using GM certified parts to repair the issues. Without the turbo the car would have had very little get up and go. Disliked the repeated issues with overheating and system errors when nothing was wrong. The limited blind spots made visibility a breeze and driving much safer. The fuel economy was great, and if you keep your foot out of the car, you can get way higher than the expected mileage per gallon. Engine is way too small for the vehicle, and it puts a lot of strain on it because the car weighs so much. Car has pretty good crash safety ratings for the price also.
Story
Driving from Colorado to California on the long straight always blasting music.
Pros
Easy to work cruise control that made road trips way easier. Decent sound and the AUX made listening to music easier especially without a Bluetooth feature. Good amount of trunk space, and the leather seats were nice and comfortable. Power control options instead of manual windows.
Cons
Active lemon law, head gasket issues, water pump issues, and transmission issues. Stereo system was very outdated and no Bluetooth option.
