I have had my Honda Pilot EX-L for almost four years. I have had zero issues with the Pilot. The build is very high quality. The interior leather seems of higher quality than most. The back-up camera is a very nice touch. However, I wish the camera had left/right turn on as well. The drive is smooth and never extremely bumpy even for an SUV. The sun roof is a great add on. The Pilot is very roomy and easy to bring in and out a car seat. It's also very easy to install a car seat with the LATCH system. You could easily fit multiple car seats in the second and third rows. I like that I can also put the car seat in the middle row, so if there was an impact, it wouldn't be touched. I feel very safe in the SUV and was one the reasons why we purchased the vehicle. The controls are all very e... (more)
Story
A road trip with my new baby, husband and mom to the central coast was a fun and new experience. I was stressed out originally thinking the baby was not going to do well in the car. But the Pilot is so roomy and comfy with an easy LATCH system that he did so well. The Pilot is, thankfully, easy to clean since we have the leather seats. So any spill, spit up or mess can be wiped up! Even when h... (more)
Pros
Reliable, long lasting, safe, comfort, practical, spacious, back-up camera, sun roof, music, XM radio, big trunk, easy to clean, and third row.
Cons
Back-up camera not on left/right turn, no start engine before entering car, and would have liked darker interior leather.

Love that the Honda Pilot is a 3 row SUV. This is overlooked in the Honda and it really is a larger SUV if you look at it closely. It is much wider than its same class counterparts. I believe this is the roomiest mid-sized SUV out there.
Story
On a road trip to MD one summer we ran into a family we knew from NY on our way home. We knew they vacationed in MD too but never saw them before. It was funny because they had a new SUV and we had the Pilot. Theirs was stuffed with not much room to spare at all and 4 people in the car. We also had 4 people but plenty of room. We needed U.K. taking the son back to NY with us because we had muc... (more)
Pros
The size is a big plus. With the 3rd row down there is almost as much room in the back as a full sized SUV such as a Tahoe or similar. Another pro is the quiet engine. The Honda 3 liter 6 cylinder engine is very quiet and also has good power. Great for road trips and quiet rides. Trade in value is high with the Pilot as it keeps its value very well. This car can run forever. EX-L model is very comfy with soft leather seats in all rows. Kids can sit in comfort on road trips.
Cons
Not too many cons. However it is not great in the snow. Snow tires are recommended for sure with this SUV. Sounds contradictory in my opinion to have an SUV and need snow tires but it helps a lot. Snow tires on an SUV he’ll stopping more than anything and I feel this is something that Honda missed the mark on in regards to the stock tires they use. Fuel economy is not great. Lucky to get 19 mpg average.

Purchased my Honda Pilot in 2005 and has been a tremendous vehicle with excellent reliability, decent gas mileage, and quality comfort. My vehicle is an EX-L version with quality leather and most bells and whistles given that year, including a six-CD Player. Other than oil changes, new brakes, and new timing belts, the car has been relatively maintenance free -- it currently has more than 218,000 miles on it.
Story
My Pilot has all-wheel drive, and though I've never really taken it truly off-road, it has performed well in mud, snow, and rainy conditions.
Pros
I've really enjoyed the reliability of the vehicle, as it has never broken down on me after twelve years. My favorite thing about the vehicle is its roomy interior and excellent visibility on all sides from within the SUV. The leather seats are very comfortable, and the A/C works well. Console is very well laid out with plenty of room for storage.
Cons
The audio system could be much better -- it is standard Honda, but a BOSE upgrade would be nice. Gas mileage is just OK -- could use improvement. Tires are a bit small. No independent adjustable cooling for rear seating area -- at same temperature as forward cabin.
