I got this car after ending a lease on a 2012 Honda Civic. I traded that car in for the 2014 model in spring of 2014. I had substantial upgrades, especially to the car technology. With the new car I get a lane change camera and a backup camera in addition to a large touchscreen that connects to Bluetooth. I feel as if this car is also sportier - the rims look nice and expensive. I get good mileage and really have no complaints overall. In terms of mileage and how the engine runs, it's comparable to the 2012 model. However I do think the interior and all of the technology greatly add to the cars appeal. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who wants something both reliable and affordable.

Great Reliable Vehicle
The vehicle is amazingly reliable and convenient. I have 177,000 miles right now, and it has yet to break down. I have owned this car for 6 years, and since I have kept it up to date with oil changes and services, I have had no major problems. The exterior is a little messed up, because I have been hit and run in a parking lot. This vehicle has gotten me to and from many places, and I wouldn't trade its reliability for anything. I am expecting to have this car until it reaches about 300,000 miles which I heard is the average for this make and model. I have slight oil leaks, nothing major, I just need to add some oil in between my oil changes. The car runs smoothly, and has a pretty quiet engine as well. I honestly haven't heard of the same make and model where someone has had a negative experience. I have performed routine maintenance, and the gas mileage is pretty good. I get about 30 miles to the gallon on average, which is great for the distances I have to drive. The price is fair for the car as well, and the security system is great, and the air conditioning still works which is a plus.

Amazingly fast and fun to drive.
There was many things that I really liked about this car. First of all, the high revving engine made the car very fun to drive. The suspension, allowed for great handling, which also added to the excitement, each and every time I drove the car. Especially on curvy roads, the car performed very well. There was also a few things I did not like about the car. For one, the speedometer: a digital speedometer, was not consistently correct. When accelerating quickly, the speedo would jump, I feel Honda could have made the speedo read faster. Another thing was that in order to make any power, the car needed to be revved above 6000 RPM, although the engine sounds amazing, it really kills the miles per gallon.
I loved the styling of this car, from the headlights to the rear spoiler, to the exhaust tips, everything looked amazing. I had the HFP, or Honda Performance Package, which consisted of an aero kit, side skirts, front lip, and rear lip. This made the car beautiful. Honda designers were really on top of their game when designing the 2009 Honda civic, I loved the way it looked.
The car was unbelievably comfortable, the bucket seats made you feel tucked into the car. This was especially great for the curvy roads, where you really felt implanted into the seats. The seal on the car was also great, as there was very little road noise.
I am an average sized person, five foot 8 inches, and felt as if I had a lot of room, the back seat is a little cramped, but no one really ever sat back there, so it was not a problem at all. The trunk was pretty big, but it was really unnecessary, anything that required me lugging around, was thrown in the back seat.
As with all Honda's, the quality is unparalleled. Everything from the engine to interior seating were of high quality. Even after driving the car hard on a daily basis, the car was still extremely reliable. I can't say that there was anything that broke on the car, during my time of ownership.
Due to the way the car was made, there was some pretty bad blind spots in the driver side window, as well as being hard to see out the back. The noises were kept to a minimum, thanks to the great seal on the car.
I never had to bring it to the shop, I changed the oil, and did regular maintenance to the car myself, thankfully, there was no need of any major repairs, so it was never in the shop.
Gas mileage could have been better, I averaged around 20 mpg, which is not bad, but for a Honda, I was expecting more. I never had to do any major maintenance, so I really can not answer this question. Friend's that I knew with the same car all tell me that the car was relatively cheap to repair, when ever they did have to bring it in for clutch or other minor issues.
The car performed, extremely well, the high revving high output engine was amazing to drive. This pair up with a close ratio transmission made the car very fast. All together, the awesome performance paired up with the sporty suspension and great breaking, made the car very fun to drive. I felt like the car was very easy to drive, it responded very well to my reactions, and so, I felt very safe while driving.
