2013 Honda Civic - Love it, but only comfortably seats two

I absolutely love my Honda Civic. I currently am leasing a 2-door that has backup cameras! For reference, my last and only other car was from 1994 so this car is a huge advancement. The backup camera is convenient, but also somewhat necessary. My biggest problem with the car is that it does have some blind spots because it is more compact. Without the backup camera I worry I would not be able to see everything, not necessarily behind me, but driving at me from my left or right in a parking lot. I have gotten many compliments on my car and its sleek, somewhat sporty look! While there are five seats total (two in the front and three in the back as a bench seat) it really only comfortably seats 2 people. This car is perfect for anyone who is single or for a couple! The front seats are spa... (more)
Story
When I first got my car I brought it to my local Farmer's Market to get some produce. I got a great parking spot close to the Market, which meant many people walked by my car as they were doing their own shopping. I had many people come up to me and ask me questions and compliment the look of my car! I associate Honda Civics with being fairly common and have the look of an average car, but sin... (more)
Pros
My favorite feature of the vehicle is the backup camera! It provides enough visibility that you can see behind the car and to the left and right of it. The screen in the front of the car has lines so when backing up you know exactly how far away you are from an object or the curb. I also love that the car has a USB port that I can use to charge anything such as my iPod or cell phone. I can also use the USB port to play music directly from my iPod in my car. Don't worry though if you don't have an iPod. The car has Bluetooth so you can link to your phone or other Bluetooth device and play m... (more)
Cons
One of the biggest cons of the car is that it only seats two people comfortably. Since it is a 2-door vehicle, anyone sitting in the back needs to climb in from the front. In addition to their climb they will have very little leg room. I feel it would be incredibly challenging to get a car seat back there and therefore do not think this car is good for children... however the 4-door Honda Civic likely is!

When I first saw my 2000 Honda Civic DX at the dealership I figured it was going to be a piece of junk since it was sitting in the sell or auction off area. For some reason I just thought it was so cute and decided to take it for a test drive. I've loved it from then on! I was used to a top of the line vehicle and this Honda had no luxuries in it at all. It is small, actually has windows that have to be rolled up with a crank, cloth bucket seats, and nothing frilly I need to worry about breaking. It only has 108,000 miles on it. I have chosen this vehicle over a new one several times. New things die quicker than older things. When I want to go to the beat of the music it picks up and goes!
Story
When I first got my car I just enjoyed the shock and surprise others had when I would show up. I was known for having a minivan that I would make thump with the Bose stereo system when I went down the road. So when I showed up and people did a second take and started laughing at me, it became comical. No body could believe I gave what I had up to go to such a simple small car. I wanted simplic... (more)
Pros
For me the top positive things would have to be the size, basic model that it is and that it is a Honda. I had longer to write and I wasn't on a timer I could think of more. I enjoy having a car that is just my size. I don't have to worry about being the one that takes everyone to the lake or where ever because it isn't big enough! As I get older the non-electronicness of the car might be more of an issue but right now I really like it. I don't have the best of luck and so I really like that there are no electronics to not work when the battery dies. (Which it has done a couple of times ... (more)
Cons
The worst thing for me has been when I have had to haul around my 17 year old son. He is 6'3" and calls my car a "tuna can" when he has to go somewhere with me. Someone his size is really not meant to sit in this small of a car. My oldest son has recently had a child and so the great thing about only being able to fit me applies to here too. There is absolutely no way him, his wife, and son and my other son fit. With my bad back I have also discovered the torture of trying to put an infant in the back in a car seat. It is not something I recommend!

I have to say the Honda civic, has a wonderful look to it, even though is a bit feminine if you have the way to make it towards your flow as a man, it would fit you spectacularly. The civic is very swift looking, my EX version I love because of the fact of the sunroof and the extra functions it has, it is a bit low to the fact when dealing with bumps in the road, but it is a smooth drive. The civic I have to say for a small family of at least 4, will be very comfortable and gas, not even have to worry about it. No one has seen so many changes in one vehicle as I did, from the 2000 to the 2009 it has changed very much, its a big bigger in length making it look sporty but luxurious, wanting you to make sure that if you cannot afford the Honda Accord, you have the best for your buck in sp... Story
One extremely amazing night, is going to the club, and being the only one with a civic ex and finding a female who loves the model and the way I had it, we have been best friends ever since
Pros
I would have to say for being a civic, it is very safety looking, has great performance, a lot of the kinks have been fixed. It does not consume nothing in gas, still having the v4 engine, gives you the way to save much on gas, and not worry about going on long trips with a couple of friends. The inside is more spacious and comfortable, has the availability of the sun roof and the tires and much more wider allowing them, to not bent as much as the earlier models. The suspensions are great, transmission is amazing on HP and RPM. It is great for a family of 4 or 5, very spacious. The A/C is ... (more)
Cons
The couple of negative things the vehicle has, is that is too low but comfortable, the suspensions should have been a little bit more raised, but they are not so bad. The transmissions do still lock up at times, other than that smooth. Also the bending of the back tires, doesn't do it much, but it does still do it, which is something Honda in the Civic Models has not fixed in many years. Also the acceleration is still in slow process, The paint used is and the material of the metal is not very sturdy, in accidents not very safe. The tires and the rims start cracking after the 1st year with... (more)
