Over all its a great little car. I have had many cars over the years, mostly manual transmissions. I really like this car. Probably the best one of the cars I've owned. I never have a real problem as far as any major repairs goes. It has over one hundred and fifty thousand miles and the car shows no signs of stopping any time soon. It always starts right up and is ready to go. Handling is great. Being so low to the ground you can really take corners well, even at a good speed. Being a manual transmission I find that it shifts very nicely. I have done some minor repairs such as coolant flush and refill. Also I have replaced the master brake cylinder. That was fun, cause it was really easy to do. I have seen many of these same cars on the road prior to and after purchasing. There are man... (more)
Story
I was driving to my sisters wedding in Bellevue we when I had some extra time before hand I taught my dad how to drive a stick shift.
Pros
I love how low it is to the ground. It really handles well on corners. The engine is pretty powerful for such a little car. The engine bay is pretty big making it easier to work on problems that arise from time to time. Doing basic maintenance is not a chore. Its easy to reach all the areas on the car for basic maintenance. The car type is well known for being on the road for well over two hundred thousand miles. So there are still a lot of part being manufactured to this day. With a lot of these cars out there. There have been many accidents, meaning there are many of these cars in junk y... (more)
Cons
There are a lot of these cars still one the road which creates a high demand for parts and for sale. Which means that this style and make of car are often targeted for theft. My car alone has been stolen twice since I became an owner. Because these particular cars tend to last for several hundred thousand miles, the body takes more wear than the engines. The trim fades and the weather stripping becomes frail and breaks. The under side tends to gather rust and years of muck that can cause failures of the plastic covers and such. The interior also tends to get a bit ragged with wear and tear... (more)

I have taken this vehicle everywhere that you could think of. It has gone up through the harsh snows of Tahoe in CA with chains it preforms flawless. I have driven it up the steepest inclines of San Francisco with out any issue. It gets great gas mileage, I have taken it thousands of miles across the United states and never had any mechanical issues along the way. The seats are comfortable enough to sit in throughout the drive across states. The air conditioner has lasted and blasted cool all the time.
Story
Driving my Civic from Northern CA all the way to Vegas, making great time a long the way blasting music. Once my friends and get there we all profit on the black jack tables over the whole trip and leave with cash in our pockets have just of fun of a time in the Civic on the way home.
Pros
One of the best parts of this vehicle is the gas mileage, it gets over 25 depending on how fast you are driving. The seats are comfortable and the cloth on them has lasted since the cars birth. The EX adds v-tec to the engine which allows for some quick acceleration for a 4 door car. Spacious room, enough for four large adults to sit comfortable throughout a long road trip. Spacious trunk with lots of room for sizable luggage or golf clubs. Tight handling and good acceleration
Cons
The paint on the car was the first thing to start fading. The cloth on the seat has only just now started to rip might be made with lower quality material than other pieces of the car The cloth on the ceiling of the car has deteriorated a little bit with time, might be lower quality as well The nob on the stereo is a little bit touchy but works most of the time after 18 years Faded headlight glass needing to be replaced over time.

Sales person went out of their way to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted. My mechanic looked the car over and said that the vehicle was very well maintained - looking almost as though it were new off the line. I felt I got great service and an excellent deal.

I brought my kids in with me during the car buying process. They were so patient and made sure all of us were taken care of. Lots of snacks (for the kids) and test drives (for me) later we bought the perfect car for us. Thank you!!
