I Love my Yaris!
I adore my Toyota Yaris. It is such a reliable vehicle, gets amazing gas mileage, is comfy, fun to drive, easy to handle, and pretty zippy when the need arises. It is also a unique, cute car for driving around town. Very easy to handle, and hugs corners well. Another bonus, the A/C works great, as does my iPod jack, which is a lifesaver when I was stuck in L.A. Traffic. Plus, it hasn't needed any major automotive work since the day I drove it off the lot. Overall, this car is fantastic. We've taken it cross country a few times, haul all kinds of impossibly big things in it, and it has never let us down.

Cute, practical, low maintenance car
I purchased my 2007 Toyota Yaris new when my 2001 Toyota ECHO was almost paid off and nearing the point of needing to put money into it to pass inspection. My Yaris has 116,000 miles on it, and it has never let me down. In city driving I generally get 30-35 miles a gallon, and I can get 40 mpg on the highway in ideal conditions which is great for me financially. The maintenance that I've done has all been fairly typical: tires, brakes, and routine oil changes. I did have a hole in my muffler when I was around 100,000 miles, but it was not a difficult fix. I've had some small issues that have been easy fixes, for instance the rubber weather stripping beside the drivers window cracked, but I was able to order the part from Toyota and replace it myself. I had the serpentine belt replaced by a non-Toyota belt and it squeaks like crazy, so obviously, it doesn't like non-Toyota parts. The headlights are a little bit of a hassle to change, because you basically have to remove the entire bumper, and we always break the plastic clips. The last time we had to zip tie it back on.
The hatchback Yaris looks cute and is very roomy inside, it's comfortable for long trips and I've had very tall friends ride inside and still comment that they did not feel squished. I also light the bright blue color, I never have a problem finding my car in a full parking lot. It's teeny so it zips around and it's easy to park, especially in tight city lots. For a little car it's great in snow and on ice, I've never had an issue and often surprise my co-workers that I make it with no problems.
I have a little inflatable kayak that I can toss in the back and I've slept in the back comfortably when I was camping and it started raining.

Used to Love
I bought the Toyota Yaris in 2007. I had seen it on the road and in commercials, and I loved the center dashboard and all of the hidden storage compartments. I thought it was a great little car for the price which was about $13k. I liked how the back seats folded down and that, if I needed to, I could fit some smaller boxes in back. When I drove it home for the first time the ride was smooth and I realized that I was actually going faster than intended as the speed was so smooth. My Yaris handles very well and I feel secure driving it. With snow on the road it also handles much better than I thought it would, with the exception of getting stuck in even small amounts of snow. I should also mention that the alarm the Yaris came with never once failed.
