2000 Honda Civic OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Marquette, Michigan
Civics for life.
I initially bought this car on a whim. My last car had kicked the bucket and I needed a new car that would get me from college and back (500 miles one way) for at least a year. After that year I planned to move on to another vehicle...but I have had this car for 10 years now- apparently I was hooked! I had put decent all season tires on it and I was shocked as to how amazing it does in the Michigan's Upper Peninsula bodacious winters. As cars were getting stuck left and right I continued to scuttle along in my little "4 banger." The fuel mileage is also amazing- even at almost 20 years old it still gets around 35 mpg! The best mileage I have ever gotten in it was around 43 mpg and that was going through Ohio on the freeway--Not bad for a car that isn't classified as a "hybrid!" My husband has owned various makes of cars (Chevy, Ford, Dodge) and they all left him on the side of the road and it my 2000 Civic that I rescued him in. I have primarily only have had to do maintenance to this car (new tires, oil changes, brakes etc.) whereas my husbands cars its been gaskets and other major repairs that have cost us 100's-1000's of dollars. I also have to say I am going to be pretty sad when this car finally does "go out to pasture" but I have confidence it is not going to be because of the engine but because of the frame finally rusting out. I loved this car so much that I actually bought another Honda Civic a few months ago with the hopes that it lives up to or even surpasses its predecessors continual reliability and general awesomeness.

This car was very economic
Overall the Honda was a great car for me. It got everywhere I needed to go with very limited issues. IT also allowed me to focus on more than 1 thing at a time as well. The big perks about the Honda is the gas mileage it was great never had problem with it. The compact style was great for me at the age because it was steady an easy for me to maneuver quickly. The style was sporty overall as well. The car did lack power though. It wasn't quick when you need to get anywhere quick. Overall the car was grand and I would buy another in the future for sure.

My Honda Civic 2000 is an efficient, lightweight car that I bought from my mother a year ago. She bought the car when I was still in high school or middle school, and I learned to drive on it. (I even had my first accident in it--someone ran a stop sign and T-boned me at 25 mph.) After I went to college, I didn't drive it again, but two years after I graduated and moved to Iowa, I bought it from her so that my wife could use her other car while I moved to Michigan for graduate school. It may not be young anymore, but it's a solidly built car that's reliable and safe.
