My 2010 Honda Insight has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. I have not had a single issue with the car since it was purchased new.
Story
When driving three hours a day round trip for my job I went to for two tanks of gas a week instead of four.
Pros
The car gets good gas mileage and has never given me any trouble. There's an Eco boost option to provide even more gas savings.
Cons
It's not the most comfortable road trip car and it's not very "zippy" for in-town traffic.

My favorite thing about this car is the gas mileage; I average around 40 miles to the gallon. And I love the aesthetics of the car and I think the shape is unique. It's not like every other car. I also love the hatchback. Although the car is small, the hatchback makes it seem as if there is more space. One thing that other people have mentioned about my car that they do not love is that it is VERY responsive. A slight turn of the wheel does a lot. This isn't necessarily a negative, just something to get used to if you haven't driven a vehicle like this. The air conditioning is one thing that I do not love. It is fine when you are on the interstate, or driving fluidly without stops, but when you are in stop and go traffic the air conditioning (as with the rest of the car) shuts... (more)
Story
My car is often used as the road trip car to lakes, cabins, or getaway weekends for friends and family. The biggest reason is for the fantastic gas mileage. But it is also comfortable and has good speakers for our dance parties!
Pros
Great gas mileage. Roomy for a small car. Love the hatchback. Rides very smooth at any speed. The shape of the car is unique which adds character. All of the electronic features. I like being told that I need to put air in my tires or need an oil change. Visual display for how much of an economical driver you are. Teaches you to be more economical.
Cons
Air conditioning turns off when the car stops. In hot weather, it can get pretty warm. Back seat is pretty small. Tall people will have issues. Having three adults in the backseat is crowded. Steering is very touchy - doesn't take much in terms of turning the wheel to make the car turn.

I drive a 2011 Honda Insight. I have enjoyed this vehicle from the moment I drove it off the lot. It gets great gas mileage (over 45 mpg!), and handles great. I have recently hit the 100k mark in miles, and still have no problems with the vehicle. I have transitioned from bachelor, to husband, to father, during my 4 years with this vehicle, and it has handled all those extra needs remarkably well. No matter what stage in life you are in, I would recommend this car.
Story
The first weekend I owned the car my friends and I drove it to a casino and back on one tank of gas. The car ran out of fuel right as we got home. The casino was an easy 4 hours away. There and back on one tank of gas.
Pros
One thing you might not know from just looking at it, but it has great cargo storage. On a trip to IKEA I fit 2 bookshelves, a kitchen table, 5 chairs, and an entertainment center (all to be assembled later) into this vehicle. The seats even fold down to provide extra room for storage. It's a great vehicle for commuting long distances. I love that I can plug my phone in to the car (through the usb port) and play music, audiobooks, and podcasts. Hands down, the cargo space is my favorite feature.
Cons
As a taller person, I sometimes have trouble feeling as comfortable as I would like in this car. In the winter, it often needs air refilled in the tires. My least favorite feature is if I have two taller people sitting in the back, they often complain about head space. I also think it gets really hot in the very back cargo area. My dog lays back there on longer trips and she always seems to get too hot.
