I absolutely love my Honda Civic. I currently am leasing a 2-door that has backup cameras! For reference, my last and only other car was from 1994 so this car is a huge advancement. The backup camera is convenient, but also somewhat necessary. My biggest problem with the car is that it does have some blind spots because it is more compact. Without the backup camera I worry I would not be able to see everything, not necessarily behind me, but driving at me from my left or right in a parking lot. I have gotten many compliments on my car and its sleek, somewhat sporty look! While there are five seats total (two in the front and three in the back as a bench seat) it really only comfortably seats 2 people. This car is perfect for anyone who is single or for a couple! The front seats are spa... (more)
Story
When I first got my car I brought it to my local Farmer's Market to get some produce. I got a great parking spot close to the Market, which meant many people walked by my car as they were doing their own shopping. I had many people come up to me and ask me questions and compliment the look of my car! I associate Honda Civics with being fairly common and have the look of an average car, but sin... (more)
Pros
My favorite feature of the vehicle is the backup camera! It provides enough visibility that you can see behind the car and to the left and right of it. The screen in the front of the car has lines so when backing up you know exactly how far away you are from an object or the curb. I also love that the car has a USB port that I can use to charge anything such as my iPod or cell phone. I can also use the USB port to play music directly from my iPod in my car. Don't worry though if you don't have an iPod. The car has Bluetooth so you can link to your phone or other Bluetooth device and play m... (more)
Cons
One of the biggest cons of the car is that it only seats two people comfortably. Since it is a 2-door vehicle, anyone sitting in the back needs to climb in from the front. In addition to their climb they will have very little leg room. I feel it would be incredibly challenging to get a car seat back there and therefore do not think this car is good for children... however the 4-door Honda Civic likely is!

I believe my Honda Civic is one of the best engineered cars in the modern world. Mechanically, the engine is sound and built with tight tolerances. The aluminum alloy block dissipates heat efficiently, preventing thermal damage to the engine or surrounding components. This is important, as heat and vibration are the two most destructive forces working against any engine or transmission. The distribution of weight, fore and aft, along with the tight suspension, give me a balanced smooth ride on the highway or during city driving. Electrically, my Civic is as reliable as it is mechanically. For that rare occasion where changing a fuse might be necessary, the fuse box is easily accessible. Thanks to LED technology, replacing tail lights, and turn signals is also a rare occurrence. ... (more)
Story
I drove it in the winter after fresh snow fall. The vehicle began to drift, spun out, and slid sideways up the exit ram, gently coasting to a complete stop, sideways, right at the traffic signal.
Pros
Among my favorite features of the Honda Civic are the interior features. The interior design is stylish but without being pretentious. It is a comfortable car with seats that offer good support for long term driving. The stock stereo/CD produces clean sound and good FM reception, and the speakers have good signal response. The placement of all the dash controls, like climate controls and stereo, is comfortable enough that I don't have to look at the dash to change the station on the radio or adjust the temperature.
Cons
The vehicle does not handle rust well. The body begins to show small spots of rust on some locations. By the time the rust becomes visible on the surface, it has already spread beneath the surface. The place where rust is perhaps most evident, even though it's not visible, is in the exhaust system. Before rust can be seen on the outside of the muffler, it affects the sound. This problem may be related to my climate.

This dealership was great because the sales people do not work on commission. I felt welcomed when I walked in rather than attacked by salesmen. The man we worked with was fantastic and worked very hard to provide us with the perfect car. We did not feel pressured to buy a car or buy a more expensive car than we had planned.

The sales representative was patient and willing to field several questions about the mechanical and electrical condition of the car prior to the purchase. The vehicle was cleaned again so I could take a close look at the paint, and the dealership offered to fix about 3 things I was unsatisfied with after I committed to buying the car. The car needed some additional fixes AFTER I bought it, and these repairs were done free while I was granted indefinite use of a brand new Honda Accord!
