2008 Chevrolet Cobalt - Overall, it was an okay car, but it had a lot of recalls and internal problems that would prevent me from buying again.

I have a black Chevy Cobalt that ran well for the first couple years, but it had more than four recalls in a short amount of time that really impacted my ability to drive the car comfortably. It runs well engine wise, and has a lot of get up and go. It also is cheap to maintain since it is an American-made car.
Story
I really enjoyed the times I drove the car with my friends to Chicago on the weekends: 6.5 hours, windows down, stereo blasting. Minus the gas mileage, it is a lot of fun to go on road trips with all the extra space! I was always able to pack lots of clothes and snacks for the weekend trips and never needed to worry about passengers being comfortable in the car for the drive.
Pros
The car accelerates quickly and feels smooth driving on the highway. It has a lot of space in the backseat and the trunk. It also has a really good basic sound system that came standard. I really enjoy how quiet the car is when driving on the highway at 60-70 mph. I enjoy the lower-priced maintenance on the car as well. No special ordering any parts at proprietary pricing.
Cons
It has had more recalls than I consider to be acceptable. I understand these things happen, but at the point you have four to do in less than a year, it sounds like maybe the car wasn't quite ready to be released. It had an issue where the key would not release from the ignition, and while I had to wait for the parts for the recall, I had to use the emergency key release button under the steering wheel. It also uses a lot of gas considering the size of the car. It is not fuel efficient at all in my opinion.

2014 Chevrolet Cobalt - Good car, very nice and reliable.

3000 pound curb weight and 260hp is a great combo. Turbo-charged ecotec engine is fantastic. Exhaust has a nice rumble on hard acceleration, but it's not tiresome on the highway. Tires, wheels, steering, braking and suspension/handling are all top notch, simply outstanding. This car can really perform and it is so much fun to drive. Seats are amazing. I would recommend this ride to anyone who needs a double extra dose of performance in their daily drive.
Story
I took this car on vacation with my family. We went to Florida. It was a great time and we had fun.
Pros
Car is engaging, it communicates through the steering wheel, suspension and exhaust sound. It does not attract attention, the interior does not communicate (steering wheel blocks freeway speeds and generally no useful notification system, trust OnStar). Step on the throttle and it accelerates very quickly, no 'bad boy' behavior, just the rush.
Cons
I was constantly having problems with it. Interior quality is awkward and shoddy, I failed an emissions test shortly after buying it, and some other problems I honestly can't remember, except they were costly. I also hated that it seemed to turn way too widely, at least for me-handling was awkward. I would have rated it lower, but as I just totaled it and walked away sans injuries, I'm giving it a slightly higher rating. But I think there are cars just as safe, but more enjoyable to drive out there.

The people I delt with at this dealership were honest and respectful. Never once did I feel like I was being taken advantage of or being told lies just to make a deal. I got a great deal on a dependable car with a top notch warranty. I plan on purchasing my next vehicle from them as well.
