2002 Toyota Camry - The Camry is reliable, efficient and safe. I feel comfortable in owning this car for at least 200,000 miles

I bought my Camry with just under 100,000 miles and so far have had to make just one repair on it besides oil changes and regular maintenance. It's a six-cylinder, so when I need to give it a little gas when I am in traffic it's never an issue. I always know it will turn over in the morning, and I know parts and fixes will never be an issue because the Camry is such a common model. This model is also more recent than Toyota's recalls, so I'm not worried about anything failing or defective parts. So far the performance has been great. Although I'd like the city gas mileage to perform slightly better, the 2.5 Hour drive home always goes smoothly because the car handles and drives exceptionally on the road. It's also a mid-sized sedan, and so parking in the city is never much of a hassle ... (more)
Story
Mostly I like to park my car when I can, so there are hardly memorable stories I have with it, which can actually be more significant. The fact that I have no complaints about getting from point A to point B is in itself fun for me, because it means I have a reliable mode of transportation.
Pros
My favorite features of the vehicle has to be how smoothly it handles and how much control I have over the speed. I never knew how much control I could have over an automatic car until I used this one. Having used manual transmissions before, I was nervous, especially coming up on Minnesota winters that it'd be hard to navigate in traffic on a busy high such as the one I use to get to work. However I've never had any issue with this. I also love the interior. Although the black leather can get pretty warm in the summer when it sits in my work parking lot, it feels like my second home when ... (more)
Cons
The Camry is starting to show its age, and since I've only owned the car for a short period, the charges are starting to rack up. For the first 6 months or so of ownership I only had to make oil changes and change the air filter in addition to fill ups. About six months in, my bank one sensor one oxygen sensor became defective, not a threat to anything except gas mileage, so I waited awhile to fix it. It's also never been able to hold windshield wipers for a very long time, I will now be on my third set in the coming month. About two weeks or so into this Minnesota summer as well the air c... I purchased the vehicle from my mom when she bought her new car. I was familiar with it and was interested in driving something reliable. It had about 100,000 miles on it when I purchased it, and I've put another 50,000 on top of that. On a whole, I've never had any issues with it. It does a really nice job of meeting my needs and has performed well. I've taken good care of it maintenance wise, which definitely helps it run well.
Story
This vehicle was the one I took on a road trip to Duluth with my girlfriend.
Pros
Fuel economy has stayed consistent since I bought it. I keep track, and the miles per gallon has stayed consistent. I replaced the brakes recently, and the dealership did a great job finding the necessary part with ease. The trunk space is especially nice, as it is able to easily fit all of my camping gear. The interior room is another nice feature, as me and several of my friends are taller, and we all are able to fit in the car with ease.
Cons
Recently, I got into an accident and had to replace the headlights of the car. This proved to be very difficult, and they are not easy to install by yourself. Also, I've had frequent issues with headlight bulbs going out after very little use, many times only a few months. The default windshield wipers that came with the car were also somewhat ineffective. Finally, while I enjoy the opportunity to have a sunroof, it is trick to get it closed, as you have to time the button just right.

Staff was approachable and friendly. I was assisted almost immediately and didn't have to wait for a salesperson. He first asked my budget and what I was looking for, and everything he showed me was within those constraints. I did not feel pressured at all. He was knowledgeable about the cars within my budget, and knew the inventory well.

They were very attentive to our needs, and the poor associate, who was brand new, stayed with us until the bitter end. We were there for three hours negotiating and deliberating, and he was sweating the whole time. We were able to leave with the car that night, and it was amazing.
